That's just great...nothing to really be relieved about, though. Just another great celeb down that will never sign fan mail for anyone again. {down}

Well we don't know that for sure. He may start signing again later on. Some celebs just need a break from the attention and fame for a while.

True...but being 76, it's hard to say that there might not even be a starting signing again. I completely understand why old actors and such stop signing, like Ringo, too. I guess it's just his time to stop the mail...I was a little bit wrong about that bit. ;)

Thanks for posting this; I was going to write to him in the future, I guess there's no use. :neutral:

That's too bad. I should have gotten him when I had the chance.

When I began collecting in 2005 one of my first requests was to Mr. Wilder. I received a PP and a very dumb letter from his secretary. When I first started browsing Fanmail.biz in around 2006 I remember him being a staunch no-signer TTM.
When did he start signing again? I wish I had known.

I believe Mr Wilder was not told his cancer was in remission until Spring 2005, so he may have understandably shied away from the public during the period he was being treated. I personally believe he enjoyed meeting his fans so much when he did all the book store signings of his biography and subsequent fiction that it led to him signing through the mail again, as he did sign a lot after that.

I had the pleasure of meeting him in London on 07th June 2005 when he signed at Waterstones Piccadilly in London. It was a dream come true for me as he has long been one of my all time favourite actors. His eyes really do have the intense bright blueness you see in the films. A lovely man and a very funny man, but his biography is sad reading at times.
