Hello, I live in Scotland (Southern) and when I go to the Post Office to send letters to a celeb in America and I get weird looks from the staff that work there. I was just wondering if that has happened to any other collector or is it just me being really paranoid!!!
depends which post office we use , if we use the general post office they are just plain nosey , the small sub post just pass the stamps and don't really look whats on the address.
tell them to stop being nosey and get on with their work..... then run
Im from the UK and I dont have a problem when I send to the US
When I sent to Paris Hilton I gave the lady my envelope so she could get the stamps an she said 'Ooooh, sending to Paris Hilton!'
I just think some people think its quite wierd to write to celebs
Dont worry if your post office staff gives you a wierd look!
God luck with your collecting
Im also from the UK - However, I don't post my letters at the post office, I just put them in the post box, its much easier! If you feel uncomfortable going, just buy the stamps and put it in the post box instead
I think, people just find it wierd that we write to celebs, especially when they think its they're home address Don't worry about it, I've heard its pretty normal for this to happen
Good luck with the rest of your requests!
I don't post them myself someone else does it for me! But we've known the people at the PO for years, so I'm sure no one gives funny looks.
I know sometimes some staff can vbe a bit rude when asking what it contains, as they need to know whether it's letters or photos. But apart from that....
Hey,
Im another member from the UK. When i first bought an IRC it was quite funny as the lady that served me didnt know what they were!!!! She had to ask someone else!!! The other staff member told me they dont sell alot!
I have been given the odd look occasionally. I used to be a bit embarrassed by it but have got used to it now!!!

I wanted to send something to Angela Lansbury, but because the post office workers are of an age that means they know who she is, i feel embarrased and i haven't sent it. Any good excuses to say to the workers? -

"I'm posting it for my sister"
That's all i can think of!!! James {thumb2}
Don't worry about it. They are not paid to comment on their customers items, and frankly, if someone did say something, I would report them. What passes through their hands is of no concern to them - YOU shouldn't have to make any excuses for something YOU are posting through the place where they happen to work.
You should go in there, hand it to them, and that's it. {thumb2}
