Incorrect Postage...

Unread post by Jaffer »

Hello! What are the consequences of sending too little postage? Will it be a RTS? As I am expecting a few responses from my SASE'S that I have not received yet, and my only guess is that I stuffed up with the postage...

Hi jaffer!

Here's what could happen - For domestic mail, if there is NO postage, it is returned to sender. If insufficient postage, they collect from addressee. For international mail, express mail, etc, it is always returned to sender.

However, I've also heard that if there is inusfficient postage, the post office may RTS.

Also, some celebs may put on extra postage for you. I've not seen it happen often, but it does. Remember, though, responses take time. So be patient.

Hope this helps!

Thank you Annie! I am starting to think it was an RTS, but i have never written the return address before, so they probably simply threw it in the bin!

Sometimes, if there is insufficient postage payed on your SASE, the envelope will be held at your nearest mail sorting office. You then have to pay the outstanding stamp fees and in the UK they add £1 on to this as a handling fee too.

Good luck, I really hope you are successful! {thumb2}
