Sports stars are a little different because they got to where they are based on their talent, not based on how much people like them. Still, I think sports stars should still do what they can for their supporters...

But back to reality stars not wanting to sign autographs...I heard some really nasty things about Taylor Hicks ("American Idol" season 5 winner) a few weeks ago. I'd heard that he had gotten a really big head and didn't want to sign autographs, and according to some people, he got like that while he was still on "Idol!" Doesn't sound like someone who's deserving of the title "American Idol" to me...

But even bigger stars, like Cameron Diaz for example...on numerous occasions I have seen her / heard of her blowing fans off, saying "Sorry, I'm not signing anything today."

I wish all celebrities (no matter if they're A-list or D-List) were more like people like Tom Cruise or Will Smith--they're always nice to their fans, they always sign as many autographs in person as they can. They're two of the biggest stars in the world, and they always come through for their fans.
I agree with everything you said {thumb2} It annoys me more when celebrities are rude ip (it actually annoys me when anybody is rude to me for no reason :lol: ) If they don't reply to my letter, I don't really mind. I can understand them not wanting to trawl through piles of fanmail but there's no excuse for being rude to people who queue for hours to see you and support you.

yeah you're totally right!!

I had that experience recently too. I sent to Stevie Vallance and she said, "I don't do autographs." She said I could buy her c.d. and she "might" sign it. In which I trashed her e-mail and was like "what?." Whatever...Other celebs have signed for me and been really nice. It really bugs me because fame can come and go without fans support. There was an actor who was pretty huge in the regional theatre scene but then started getting nasty to fans. I personally know of someone who had an autistic sister and he wouldn't even talk to her or take a picture with her, now that he's not famous anymore he does fan conventions. lol.

Well I had a really great thing happen, to me just a couple of weeks back, my friend was working in Notting Hill London, and took me with him, he got on with his work, and told me to walk down, Notting Hill, and I would very likely find a famoius person...well I did, I walked past one of the cafes, and Louis Walsh, the judge from X factor was sitting outside, having a coffee, I just asked him how he was, at that he stood up and shook my hand, I had a great chat with him, honestly, I could have had, a coffee with him and be there like half-hour, but I hate to outstay my welcome, anyway asked him, if I could have a photo taken with him, he was delighted to say yes...Wow I was well pleased...

It's always good for us too remember, that loads, of celebs, are more then happy, to sign or have a photo taken with you...dont worry it will happen {thumb2} {thumb2}

Yeah... :x
Years ago I met Dionne Warwick and I asked for her autograph. She didn't sign. {down}
Really disappointing. {nonono}
And it also happened with Bono Vox (he didn't sign for me BUT he took a picture with another guy there). Well, you never know... :roll:

Well, Dionne Warwick is a GREAT singer. I really don't know why she didn't sign for me.
Was she just having a bad day? I don't know... :roll:

It didn't happened to me, but at the beginning of June there was Karlovy Vary International Film Festival here in the Czech Republic and one of the A-list stars who were invited to claim a prize was for example John Malkovich, and when I was reading about him on the festival in the newspaper, they said he'd disappointed many fans because he refused to sign any autograph, saying "he doesn't support autograph collectors". I'd understand he doesn't like dealers, but collectors? :shock: I immediately stopped regreting I wasn't able to attend the festival (but on the other hand, there was Antonio Banderas, too, and he gave autographs to everyone who asked, so I was a little sad I could't go anyway, because of Antonio).

Yes, it really annoys me when celebrities down sign. Believe me, it's the least they can do for the fans who put them in their posh houses and allow them to earn millions a year by doing something, which is essentially, easy. [I'm mainly talking about actors here as they are who I write to most]

I'm sure everyone of us here would be MORE than happy to spend one hour a week, just signing our signatures, if it allowed us to live the life of ease and luxury that they do.

And then you get a poor bugger like Robert Pattinson, who is probably the most hounded person at the moment, and he signs genuinely TTM, whereas most of the older, mega stars that don't have to contend with demented fans, and have much more to be grateful for than Mr. Pattison, don't.

its ridicilous to here about these young girls hounding robert, i understand when you meet a celeb your gonna want a autograph and maybe a picture, but these girls are just nuts. i hate to say this but because of this hes gonna stop signing ttm quite soon.

i know if i ever met a celebrity crush of mine, on their own time example taylor swift or chelsea staub , i would say you know hi big fan sorry to bug you but you can i get a autograph please, and maybe i would ask for a picture with them if i had a camera on me first of all and depending on how busy they were. i would ofcourse say thanks and then go on my way.
lol actualy id probably have to get whoever i was with to come approach the celeb with me because id be too nervice to aproach them myself.

anyway to answer the op's qusteion, one time i was told sorry i cant sign,

it was by ron darling former baseball player, current analyst for SNY and TBS.
well anyway he was on the field before a game a little bit before he was about to do the pre game show, and myself and a few people i was with called him , asked him if he could sign for us and he said listen guys i cant sign for you right now because then i gotta sign for everyone and im really busy , he was pretty polite about it but still a disapointment. he also said if this was any other time i would gladly sign.
