I did a big no-no with my P.O. People.
After having my mail bent many times, on June 20th, I put a small note in the mail asking NICELY for them to quit bending my mail. Then they listened for 5 Weeks and 1 Day until this past monday, when the completly bent an envelope for Tony Dovolani for no reason. I was very mad because I waited for a long time to get an autograph of Melissa Rycroft, and when I get it, ruined.
So, you could understand my attitude when I find out who's got bent. I made a note this time that would hopefully catch my mailman's (I only have one and I know who they are) attention. The next day, I noticed it wasn't there.
TODAY, apparently, the mailman was enough of a crybaby to give it to his supervisor. She got all mad and said,
1. It wasn't that nice bla-bla-bla.
2. I should write a new note saying I'm sorry to my mailman (yeh, sure.)
3. If I don't want my mail bent, I should waste more money to get all my mail "INSURED" so a UPS dude can come to the door and I can sign for it every day.
I'm just really mad at them, because this is not how I think it should be resolved, and 2. she never even said they would try to work harder to make sure my mail isn't bent anymore. I know it can occur, but it has happened to me too much.
Any comments on this, or any tips on what I should do now?

I'd say spend an extra dollar and put a THICK peice of cardboard in the envelope so the photo can't get bent. {thumb2}

You wouldn't if you could barely afford the postage, too.RYAN J. wrote:I'd say spend an extra dollar and put a THICK peice of cardboard in the envelope so the photo can't get bent. {thumb2}

Write "DO NOT BEND" in big letters? Works for me, usually.

bummer!
I do think though, that if it kept happening to me, i would buckle down and pay the extra dollar.. to me it would be worth it. other wise maybe invest in a bigger mailbox? those are the only options i can come up with..
PS no offense, but Ryan J was just trying to help.. you asked for advice, he gave it. be grateful even if you don't agree..

Well that's the choice you have to make. There's lots of way to earn extra money doing odd jobs. {thumb2}jsanders4289 wrote:You wouldn't if you could barely afford the postage, too.RYAN J. wrote:I'd say spend an extra dollar and put a THICK peice of cardboard in the envelope so the photo can't get bent. {thumb2}

the only thing I can suggest is writing Do Not Bend on your envelopes, that works for me on my 9x12 envelopes when I send them, then the mail man will knock on my door and hand me the mail.

I started using a PO box years ago when my mailman kept ruining my autos. I haven't had a problem since.

Speak to the mailman directly. Notes are very impersonal. You will need to talk to him/her face-to-face to get your message through the his/her thick skull.

It would help to know what you wrote in your note. I ask as it's pretty odd that the postman passed on the note to his supervisor.
