I try to send vintage items to older stars. You'd be surprised what you can find on Ebay for less than the price of a photo.

To celebrities I usually send photos I print myself on my home computer on high-glossy photo paper. I also send DVD covers to movie stars and CD books to musicians.
Sometimes I send book jackets to authors - or the entire book (only if it's a college professor).
To athletes I send sports cards and a couple of index cards. Occassionally to baseball players I send baseballs.
I have also sent random items to be signed to applicable celebrities. An oven mit to Iron Chef Cat Cora, a red thong to wrestling Diva Trish Stratus, rolling paper to Tommy Chong, etc.

I Did the same thing twice with Chong. Did Trish sign that red thong? and what size did you send?
Re: What do you send to be autographed?
I regret to say that she did not. She charges $10 an autograph on her website, so I was just glad she signed the picture I provided and included her own signed 5x7. She returned the thong un-signed. I'm waiting to find another celebrity to re-send it to.
Once I hit 100 posts, I will start selling my extra autographs - including the Trish Stratus 5x7.

Any ideas on who to send the thong to?
Re: What do you send to be autographed?
Like khackdrums and cdunn, I print my own 8x11's, usually 2-4 photos (depending on the celeb), a letter (different to each celeb) and a SASE.

Re: What do you send to be autographed?
The majority of the time I will print out a picture onto photo paper and send that. Sometimes if I know a singer or band will be performing at a venue a while before the concert date then I will email the venue and ask if they can send me a leaflet for the concert then I will send that to the band/singer to sign closer to the date. I have also sent index cards a few times when I have had no other options but I am not very keen on them. In the past I have sent posters too but never got any of them back signed.

I send 1-2 photos (most of the time 4x6, sometimes 5x7) or sometimes just an LOR. I also like to send index cards and DVD inserts; they do look great signed!
