Venue Questions

Unread post by nednarb3 »

How do you know when to send to VV? It seems that some people are having a great success only through a VV. How do you get the info? How soon do you send out? What about future movies/series? I read the VV info. post already, but still a bit at unease.

Thank you

Hey!
I'll try to answer as many questions as I could...
How do you know when to send to VV
If it's going for a concert, you send it that it comes 3 days before (that's how some people do and I heard it helps) and you can write on the envelope (some people do it on back, some on the front side): Please hold on for ____________.
How do you get the info?
You can get the info of the concerts on bands/singer's offical website where they post their tour dates. Otherwise you can use The Internet Movie Database. There you type actor's name and you can see if he is filming any movie at the moment. After you can use search engine on fanmail.biz which is at the top of the page. There you check if anyone before you requested an address of that movie. If not, you can request it at: http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewforum.php?f=124 <<arrow$ (there you can also request VV addresses for concerts). You can find many movie addresses and filming dates (fimning dates are usually posted in the same topic as addresses) here: http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewforum.php?f=120 <<arrow$
What about future movies/series?
You can request a VV address before they start filming but you should write there when they're filming ;)
Hope I helped and good luck! {thumb2}

Hello, ursha pretty much answered everything there but I just wanted to add that I use ticketmaster to find out about all the upcoming concerts and decide who I want to write to and where from that. I keep a list in a word document of all the bands/singers I want to write to VV and the date and venue of the concert in date order so I can keep track and don't forget to write to anyone I want to write to. When I've wrote to them I just delete their name from the list and keep an eye on the next celebs date so I can get my letter ready. It's been so helpful so I recommend doing the same :)

Thank you very much!!! When you know of a movie, how do you know the dates? Do you search an actor/actress instead of a movie?

That's a GREAT idea. I will do the same and use TM.com as well. Thank you for your info.

Hey again! :)
You can easily type actor name like: Johnny Depp. There you see there's one movie he's going to film. As it'll be filmed in 2011 (The Man Who Killed Don Quixote) are the VV address and dates probably unknown, it's a little bit early. You always look for movies that have pre-production or filming status.
Dates can be found on the internet but it's quite difficult to find them. If the VV address was already requested on fanmail.biz forum the dates will be written in the topic. Otherwise you need to open a new topic and you can be sure someone will write there filming dates ;)
If you did not understand anything, feel free to say that as it often happens to me that no-one understands what I mean :mrgreen: That's just me.
