This is a longer entry than usual as I have been a bit busy recently so haven't posted.
I've had just a few successes recently, as I haven't go round to writing very many letters, but over the next few days I plan to write some more. My last two successes TTM have been from the Leavesden Studios: a Harry Potter cast group PP and a Daniel Radcliffe PP. Despite the fact that they are preprinted, am still really pleased - as they are both beautiful 8x10 official pictures, and will look lovely until I can replace Emma's and Rupert's with authentics. (Already have Daniel Radcliffe's, VV.) My other success was from Tristan Gemmill of BBC 1's Casualty. He sent me a signed Casualty cast card and wrote a sweet dedication too.
On the 26th July, I was lucky enough to see (my favourite musical) The Sound of Music in Cardiff at the Wales Millenium Centre, on the first date of the UK tour of the show. This is Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of the show, which was a hit on the West End at the London Palladium theatre too. (Saw it there as well.) The Sound of Music starred the amazing
Connie Fisher (winner of BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?),
Michael Praed and
Maggie Preece - who were absolutely incredible, as were the rest of the show's cast. Afterwards at the main foyer in the theatre, met Jeremy Taylor (Rolf) and Martin Callaghan (Uncle Max), who were waiting in the same area as the rest of us for the lifts (there was a big group there for Connie), up to the post show celebrations in the bar! Got those two to sign my programme, and I had a quick chat and they were lovely.

They had a flick through my programme too as they hadn't seen them yet! Finally, through the rain which was pouring down so heavily it was hard to see outside Connie came into the foyer...which was just so fantastic as I have wanted to meet Connie for so long. (Connie was the first person I ever sent to as well.) I was really shocked and struck at first as I am such a big fan of Connie's and I think she is
so talented. I decided to hang back a little and not be involved in the initial rush to get to Connie, as she was able to spend more time talking to people later on. Eventually, Connie was signing in the area where I was and I got a photo with her and she signed my programme too! Had a quick conversation with her too which was great.
We were just about to leave, when Maggie Preece came into the theatre. She was really lovely as well, and signed and dedicated my programme and posed for a photo with me too. I had a chat to her about the show and mentioned that I had written to her when she was at the Palladium and thanked her for the lovely reply she had sent me. Was really fabulous for a Sound of Music fanatic like myself!
On Tuesday, I am going to see Chicago in the UK touring production of the show, which stars Emma Barton, of BBC Eastenders. Really hope to meet Emma afterwards too.
