PenPals...

Unread post by beecs »

Does anyone on here have penpals from the same or other countries?

We obviously all like writing or we wouldn't have this hobby as we have to write letters if we want to get anything in return but I was wondering if anyone had penpals and have you kept in contact with them?

I used to have a few but then I lost touch a couple moved and never forwarded their new addresses?

If you do, do you use snail-mail or e-mail?

Thank You :D

Hello :)

When I was younger I had a lot of pen pals, mostly people that I met while on holiday and decided to keep in touch with. We would write every couple of weeks and occasionally send a homemade gift but then as we got a little older we discovered MSN and hotmail so we just keep in touch via that now.

I have also recently got back in touch with some people I went to Primary School with so we email quite regularly :)

I used to have a few, most of whom I met on holidays abroad. One, I got in contact with through a friend of a friend and she wanted to improve her English. (She's French.) Others included another French person and a Dutch girl too, who also wanted to learn more English. I've had a couple of British pen friends too, but now I mainly talk to these people via email. :) One of two I have not spoken to in years, but I have the means to contact them again if I ever wanted to. {thumb2}

I have two penpals from Florida, whom I have wrote to for over 1 year. I have some online too. Would love some a penpal or two from Austria and Germany. {up}

Yes, I have e-mail-pals. I have 2 in Germany, 1 in Madagascar and I had one in New York. But I would like to have more. Even regular letter-writting penpals, I love writting. :D

I had one back in elementary school.. everyone in the class was matched up with one across the country. I think the rise of email and IM around the late 90's has really dealt a blow to the whole penpal idea.

the nearest I had was a friend from primary school who I wrote to a bit after moving on up, but then she moved house a few times in one year and so that kind of fizzled out :P its a pretty cool idea though. especially if it was with people from other places...make it more interesting. :lol:
