It's a fine line...

It's not the envelopes and paper that gets expensive, it's the postage. I have plenty of money to pay for it all, but it's not one of my necessities. I think of it as one of those things that if I have extra money, maybe I'll buy some stamps and send off a request. I don't find it neccessary to send off many requests. I only send to those I'm a true fan of. I am a true believer that quality is better than quantity.

I have been sending out big batches out one day every two weeks or so, but as soon as i get everything set up i plan on sending 3-4 a week. Maybe less. It really depends on my time, the amount of stamps, (I run out fast because I send a ton of letters to soldiers on duty weekly..) and who i want to send to.

right now i have a big batch ready to send out that is going to grow a little bit more tonight ;), but after that i think i might slow it down.

I don't find it neccessary to send off many requests. I only send to those I'm a true fan of. I am a true believer that quality is better than quantity.

I agree. I think some people are too addicted and send just for the sake of getting an autograph.

I only send to celebrities I'm truly a fan of and as silly as it sounds, there is a bit of sentimental value attached to the autographs they send back. If I were to send out to celebrities I didn't really care much about, I'd be wasting money and time, and I would need to write what would likely be an insincere letter, all to get back something that would be rather meaningless to me.

But maybe that's just me. Maybe some people honestly are a fan of 365-730 different celebrities over the course of a year. To each their own.

Wow I so Agree. {thumb2} I have seen ppl on here send to nameless 15 mins of no-fame. I send to ppl I have been fans of for a long time. My " list " is getting small and smaller.

I have to pay for my own stamps and choose to send to that special select few. I have not sent anything since May or June because this is a hobbie and cash is tough and will be so for a little longer. I will send to my list and a few that are not on it.
