I don't know about whether Jude Law signs VV, but West End shows don't provide free Playbills and it isn't customary to receive cast signed items from a Stage Manager. However some members have tried in the past sending show posters or other stuff from the show and sometime the Stage Manager is so kind as to send them back signed by the cast. That's worked for me twice.

oh ok thanks I had sent a letter to the stage manager for Katie Holmes and for Will Ferral before and that's why I was wondering for this but maybe it is different in America

Phoebe's entirely correct, but it sounds to me like you jumped the gun and already sent to the Broadway production?
It doesn't even begin performances until September 12, so you most likely will not be hearing back from this one.
Especially considering that 'Mary Stuart' JUST ended it's run there. They more than likely will toss your request, but I suppose there's a chance.
You could either wait until maybe the end of September to see if you get it returned or try and send again around September 11. Usually they aren't even in the legit theatre until a week or so before.

When I looked under via venue it says that it ends August 22nd HAMLET (From 22nd May to 22nd August 09)Jude Law, Penelope Wilton, Kevin R McNally
Wyndham's Theatre
Charing Cross Road, WC2H ODA
so i didn't really jump the gun i was actually a little late in sending it
He thought you were talking about the Broadway production of Hamlet in which Jude Law also stars and doesn't start until mid-September. If you don't hear back from the West End (and it does look like you were a little late) then you can write to Broadway and try your luck there!
Did anyone receive anything from the production of "Mary Stuart"? The show recently ended and I never heard back from it. I don't recall seeing anyone else get replies either. Just curious.
Waiting on a response from "Billy Elliott" as well. {thumb2}
Tomorrow I'm sending to "Burn the Floor" and "Avenue Q". Hoping to catch the Q cast in time before the show ends.

Oh ok I didn't notice that I might have to try again thanks
I would like to write to Jude Law viaq Hamlet at the Broadhurst theatre to see if he will sign a photo for my charity. I would also like to request a signed playbill, again for my charity. Can you please tell me how I would go about this? Do I need to send two separate letters or can I address both to Jude Law? Also does this venue definately pass on fanmail? Also when would be a good time to send it by.
Please help me I have never sent for a playbill before and I am from England. Thank you!
Chewie - no, I didn't get anything from Mary Stuart.
redtoffee - yes, the Broadhurst definitely passes on fanmail. If you want to write to Jude Law, then I would suggest writing directly to him, and request a signed Playbill, and send him a photo for him to sign for your charity. Be sure to include all the forms that show your charity is registered and legitimate. Broadway has their own charities that they support, so the Stage manager may or may not accommodate your request for a cast signed playbill for charity. If you are sending to Broadway, you MUST have return postage (US Postage) because the plays usually DO NOT pay for postage.

Thank you that is very helpful! I have obtained American stamps so that is not a problem. Is a charity headed letter of request with what we do, why it is important, plus our non profit number and website ok? Or do we need actual official registration docs as well? i will write to Jude as you suggested and ask for both requests.
