I just ramble psychotically. Especially when I'm not all that familiar with the person's work. And it never matters, I have a 100% success rate right now.

Well, I suppose it'd be easier for the people who write for the sake of an autograph, since the process has probably become much more automated for them.

What else would we write for, especially considering this is an Autograph Collecting Discussion message board? The goal is to win an autograph through the mail, I always thought.

Many members here are about fanmail as much as they are about autograph collecting.

Re: Does anyone get a writer's block when writing letters?
I would find it very hard to write to someone just for the sake of it. I have enough trouble writing to people I like and admire, the effort put into a request for someone I don't know just to say "I have their signature", is not what I do.
And I believe that letters should be more than just "give me an autograph because....". Only a true cynic would think that the letters that get sent never get read by anyone ever. If only one is read by the intended person, and that person likes it, then it was worth the trouble taken. And I'm sure an actor always likes to hear what the paying public likes about their work.

Sometimes I can write a letter in about an hour and sometimes I start to write a letter, write a few lines then stop for a while and just think about what im going to say
