why can't he sign anything??????!!! It drives me crazy! I want an autograph from him so bad, not some Autopen!
I just received an autopen from him in the mail today.

I would like to see what you received today for comparison...any chance in you posting you photo? OR anyone else have an 'autopen' example I can compare to?
RIP Amy Jade Winehouse; your genius changed my life forever.

Gojo, I am very sorry, but your photo was signed by the same autopen as the wolverine photo. The playbills are the only authentic Jackman autos getting sent out.

I think Hugh loves his fans, he does sign in person. He's very busy and bought a machine to help keep up with all the requests, while those of us who collect autos AP is a bad thing, to everyone else it's a good thing, it allows for fast results for many fans. Yes I know Daniel who normally "lazer signs" his (AP) has been signing very well, and thats great, but at the same time anyone who watches TMZ knows that while Hugh has been doing this play, he's been out and about site seeing with the wife and kids almost everyday. As much as I'd love a handsigned auto from Hugh, I love him in Swordfish, Xmen, and the Prestige (as a magician that movie meant alot to me) I understand why he uses an AP

I'm really sorry for your disappointment. For a moment there I thought you had struck gold.

I don't think Mr. Jackman has really any excuse not to sign photos for fans. The only reason he is in a Broadway play and the reason people are once again paying to see him perform, is because movie fans made him popular and made him his money. If he can't spend 15 minutes out of every day just signing for fans (heck, all his secretary has to do, is stick a note on each one saying who to dedicate them to, no ones asking him to read the letters), then I feel sorry for him.

If someone said I could live his lifestyle for the price of signing my name for 30 minutes every day; I'd be there signing stuff right now.

magicdude20 you are way of base. it does say a lot for mr craig that he is signing at the theater. the reason jackman is famous is because of the money his fans spend on him. to send an ap or a sec is more of a slap in the face then just returning the item unsigned as far as im concerned. i wonder if i go to the mall will they let me purchase the wolverine dvd with fake monopoly money? can i use that monopoly money to get into the theater and see a steady rain for that matter. it is sad when famous people care no more about their fans then this. what it says is that " i dont have two seconds of my precious time to write my name on a picture you sent or even worse on my dvd cover that you bought with your hard earned money. when people like some of the old timers on this site sign it really makes people like hugh jackman look bad. he should be ashamed.

At least I have a couple playbills with his authentic autograph on them...

How much faster really is an AP machine? If you're going to take the time to run the picture through it, why not just sign it? It saves, what, one second? I understand one second over and over again can add up, but what does he really end up saving? A few minutes a day? Ridiculous.

He signs for fans because there are cameras around him. Take the cameras away, and he would probably lug his autopen machine with him where ever he goes.

I have lost a lot of respect for Mr. Jackman.

if Hugh did not care about fans at all he would not sign playbills (which he does), if he didn't care about us he wouldn't sign in person (which he does), many celebs consider PP and AP as a viable way to handle autograph requests in a timely manner. I understand from our point of view, AP's suck, but you have to think of this from Hughs point of view, if he didn't care he wouldn't sign for anyone anywhere ever,

here's a link to a great video of Billionaire Paul McCartney blowing off fans,

http://www.tmz.com/videos?autoplay=true ... 16a72f24f0

he very rarely signs, no PP, no AP, no VV, no nothing

If so, then it seems a batch of pics were SENT to California so they could be auto-penned and sent out from there-----Sheesh {down}

Surely it's easier not to do anything with them at all. It sucks they went all that way just for an autopen.

I agree, there are varying degrees of "jerk", but Hugh is a lot closer to the bad end than the good one.

I would argue he signs in person because of the paparazzi and he cares about his public image. He signs playbills because 1)it is expected, 2)the stage manager requested it, and/or 3)because Craig is doing it and a playbill with only one of the co-lead's signature is idiotic.

When postage and pictures are provided, AND if he is going to take the time to run them through the machine, why not just open the pen and sign even ONE? Instead of running two through the machine, why not just sign one authentically?

Any celebrity owes his/her fame to the fans. Ticket sales, movie revenue, DVD sales, etc. etc. etc. are all from the fans. His paychecks are from the fans. The least he could do to show his gratitude is take the few seconds out of his day and sign a picture.

Why do fans write to their favorite celebrities to request an autograph? There are many reasons: they want their favorite celebrity's signature to feel like they own a piece of Hollywood; to feel that the celebrity has had to think about you for even a split second; to be able to show off the signature to other people; and many others.

No matter what the reason, an autopenned autograph accomplishes none of those goals.
