And I am under the impression that Broadway has an unwritten code, almost like a rulebook for how they operate. I think that the theatres would not tolerate one of these big stars appearing in a show and not doing the same things ever other actor does - signing the Playbills they provide for the paying and also non paying customers. Some people will be writing asking for a signed playbill as they missed seeing the stars when they saw the show. There is no way Broadway would want someone like Mr. Jackman dissing those people. He gets told that A Steady Rain will be providing signed playbills - I'm guessing he signs them OK.

I have my doubts about anyone who makes a big deal of signing stuff at places where their actions are shown and reported, and not in private.

Autograph requests are just that. Who here asks for a copy of an autograph? The only timely way he could deal with "autograph requests" is to make time to sign things himself.

I don't normally list any playbill signatures seperately, but in the case of Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman I have done so, so my Hugh Jackman signature is from the playbill.

i would rather someone be up front and let me know that for 20.00 i can get an authentic autograph then to basically lie to me and send me a ap or a sec. an ap or a sec is garbage. at least that way you know where you stand with that person. as far as not having time to sign but taking care of fans by ap or sec signatures. that is a shity excuse. with jackman it is almost like he will do twice the work and spend his money to not have to sign an autograph. a fan sits down and spills his heart to you in a letter. takes maybe hours to think what he says in the letter through. lets you know just how much having you take two seconds and sign your name would mean to him. and he has no time for them. its really nasty to treat fans that way. also as far as him spending his off time with family and stuff like that. that is great. what if his fans found no time to watch his movies? sometimes you have to make time for your fans. you get to be famous have all the money in the world and your family does as well. sometimes you have to thank the fans. hugh jackman is a very good actor to me. i have seen all of his movies. that said. after what has happened in the last few months. if it comes down to a decision on a friday night standing at the box office as to which movie i see i will see a daniel craig movie over a jackman movie without question.

How much faster really is an AP machine? If you're going to take the time to run the picture through it, why not just sign it? It saves, what, one second? I understand one second over and over again can add up, but what does he really end up saving? A few minutes a day? Ridiculous.

I think you miss something here. Hugh doesnt run it through the machine, his assistant (or whoever) does. So Hugh saves tonnes of time as he never sees the mail, let alone anything else.

Hugh is PAYING someone else to read the letters we wrote to him? If I wanted to write to his assistant, I would address my letters accordingly.

I can imagine much more productive things to be done with time and financial resources than paying someone to run autographs through a machine.

Again, the fact that an assistant does it means that the celebrity we are writing to does not even TOUCH or READ our letters. That's a HUGE slap in the face to the people who SUPPORT him.

why can't he sign anything??????!!! It drives me crazy! I want an autograph from him so bad, not some Autopen!
I just received an autopen from him in the mail today.

I would like to see what you received today for comparison...any chance in you posting you photo? OR anyone else have an 'autopen' example I can compare to?
