I think the most simple explanation for people not being happy with him is because everyone sent their requests to a theatre where he is known to be signing playbills himself. But he has the audacity to actually send all his personal requests, complete with items that people have spent money on, to be signed by a machine in California.

He couldn't even hold his hands up and say "all right, for the X amount of fans who have written to me here, I'll sign for them".

I would see the better movie as well, but if both seemed to be on an equal level, I would see a DC movie first.

Craig uses an AP at his agency. Most (not all, but most) celebrities who have sec. or AP signatures care of a primary fanmail address, usually sign VV. Daniel Craig is an obvious example, but many more come to mind.

People are always disappointed with AP/sec signatures, but I can quasi-understand when they come from the celebrity's agency. Maybe he/she is overseas, maybe he is on a set, maybe she is having family issues, or (most likely) maybe he/she is so busy that they never come by the agency in person (or they just rarely have a need to).

Whenever someone writes to a celebrity VV (ESPECIALLY on Broadway) we know that they are there, and we know that it is possible to sign autographs. We also know that most celebrities who normally may not sign authentically TTM will sign VV. What does it say about someone's caring for his/her fans when they have someone on their payroll who carries an AP machine around with them to read our letters and run our pictures through a machine?

Again, remember: there is a reason I am writing VV and NOT c/o an agency. I want THAT individual to be reading my letters and signing my items - not his/her personal assistant or "gofer".

to me it is also worse that they are both at the same location performing in the same play and dc is signing and jackman doesnt care enough to. as far as going to see the better movie. in my opinion the movies they put out are a toss up any way so one is not really going to be better then the other so i will see craigs movies over jackmans movies. that is just me. i really feel like everyone including myself who sent him stuff to the theater and got back ap sigs from cali got shit on by him. i will never feel the same by him. there are many people who care about fans and really get it that i can spend my money and more importantly my spare time on.

No, he doesn't. Daniel Craig has never, not even once, used an Autopen. His agency replies are laser printed. They are not the same.

I don't like the fact that Mr. Jackman is using an autopen either......but let's not forget the fact that anyone who really wants a genuine Hugh Jackman autograph right now is able to get one on the Playbill. It may not be on the exact photo we want, but the guy is a HUGE star right now....so I think it does say something for him that he is taking the time to sign the Playbills for us.
Now if anyone figures out how to add Wolverine claws to the "A Steady Rain" artwork, please fill me in on how you did it! :)

I honestly don't know what "laser sign" means, based on what others have said in the past, most seem to believe that it was AP, what does that mean? and isn't that basically the same as an AP? It's the same idea isn't it? A sec running your pic or dvd sleeve through a machine or printer on daniels behalf

If I understand correctly, a "laser signed" photo is pretty much just a photocopy (typically on nicer photo paper) of a photograph that already has an autograph on it. So it's pretty much the same thing as a pre-print. When you see one of these, there is absolutely no mistaking that it is not an authentic autograph.
An Autopen, however, is designed to make people believe that they are getting an authentic signature. And for most people who aren't familiar with this method, they honestly do believe that they are getting a real autograph. An actual pen did sign a photo, and it looks like the celebrity's signature....so it must be real, right?!?

That's why a lot of people have an issue with Autopens. A pre-print (or laser signed) photo is obviously not authentic, but the autopen can be used to trick people into thinking they received an authentic.

Thank you for the explanation, I've never really knew what a laser signed meant. My problem (or protest) isn't about the AP itself, I understand why people don't like them, what I don't understand is why people have been saying rude things about Hugh Jackman because he sends AP, many people think this is a poor reflection on him as a person.
