Celebrities sending their own photos

I'm fairly new at autograph collecting. Do celebrities generally have their own photos they sign and send out to fans...or do they expect the fan to send their own photo in to be signed? I browse this board a lot and I've been learning quite a bit about this hobby from you all!

Generally, celebrities have photos of themselves to sign, but, some don't, so, it's better to send your own, because some that don't have their own (Like Pete Best) will send you something like an index card, or a piece of paper with their autograph, which is obviously less desirable.

Many celebs do send out their own 8x10, 5x7 or 4x6 photos, But I always send them something to sign and if they still inlcude a photo, then that's a bonus!!

I always take a look at previous successes for any celebrity that I wish to write to first. If the celebrity sends their own picture then I will usually just request a signed picture. If there is a particular picture I want signed though then I will send that to them and ask them to sign it. Also, when sending to a celebrity VV I always send a picture as they don't usually have pictures available. Good luck

I think it pays to do research here, for example, Katy Perry sends out her own photos and does not seem to sign any sent to her, Alesha Dixon sends her own photo, but will sign yours if you send one etc etc. Generally, I would send one, just to be safe

I suggest sending your own photo's no matter what. There's always a better receiving something back if you send your own photo!
