I have GIVEN UP on VV!!!!!

A month ago, I sent to Cheap Trick and Def Leppard VV and then they decide to cancel their tour. What makes me angry, is that I did receive my stuff back from the place they were playing, as it was crossed off and someone wrote EVENT CXL. - Which means that it made it there and someone was kind enough to at least send my stuff back ... So, had they NOT canceled, I may have gotten success... But I will never know for sure.

Ok, so then I sent to Bret Michaels at some casino in Minnesota and it came back with a bunch of scribbles on it - Basically, the jist of it was that I should have sent to the PO BOX that their mail goes to, NOT the physical address.. So, RTS for me ... S u c k s!~

Then I try the Doobie Brothers who were playing somewhere and I got my SASE back, as if it was opened and signed and returned .. I was jacked.... What was inside was my LOR I sent, the CD sleeve UNSIGNED and that was IT ... No explanation, signatures, or anything ... Not sure if the people at the place got it and just said "Screw it" and sent it back or what.....

Then I tried Roger Daltrey in NJ and I have not received anything back yet .... His concert was on 11-17-09, so we shall see what is up .... So, I am discouraged --- Anyone else feel this way or have a similar experience?

Well... so far the only VV I've gotten so far is by Britney Spears. I've tried getting Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek each 3 times, and each time I've gotten an RTS for some reason, so now I'm like "screw it, I don't care anymore." :neutral:

I've yet to hear from Pink VV (and a few others.) I hope they don't come back RTS'ed!

I have had all my best successes come from vv like britney spears,mia kirshner,shiri appleby,billy ray cyrus,mary elizabeth winstead,terri clark,quinton jackson,dolph lundgren,selena gomez & more i cant remember and those are all in the past 6 months.

I know what you mean. I tried so many bands vv this summer and through fall, and I received some back, but not as many as I expected. Especially since I sent to some bands that aren't that big or haven't been around for that long. And when I don't get a response, I don't get anything back at all. They keep my photos and everything I sent. If these bands aren't going to sign or the venues aren't going to give the letters to the bands, then at least RTS my envelopes so I can get my stuff back and use the SASE for someone that will sign.

I'm not very lucky either. I've received 1 VV success so far...And it happened to me before that the event got canceled. I got German stamps and spent a day writing my letter, I also sent it out and 2 days before the event I was told that the actor I was trying to get won't be there. And of course, I did not get anything back. But that's how it is

I'm looking forward to sending some VV when some of these people start playing in the US, I want to send to Backstreet, Deep Purple, AC/DC, they all sign VV, and would love their auto (Backstreet is for my mom). But I do understand how frustrating VV can get. I sent to Seinfeld, and apparently like 6 other people sent to the same show, some took almost a week longer to their response than I did. I also sent out a VV to Dick Valentine (Electric six [band]) on the same day, but still haven't received anything. But even regular TTM doesn't always work out, Kristen Wiig still has one of my dvd sleeves, I honestly thought I'd get it back by now one way or the other

I sent to AC/DC on their stop at New Orleans on 10-28-09 - NOTHING yet --- But I know they are going to Europe, so MAYBE they just collect it all and will send b4 they go??? - Thoughts?

I read that the NJ venue Daltrey was at on the 17th does not pass on fanmail, I actually sent to him c/o there too. So I actually sent to his next show in NY (confirmed do pass on fanmail) which was yesterday

At least you have gotten everything back so far. The way I think of it, RTS's are better than nothing. It would be worse if they trashed everything and you received nothing back...
