Selling Autographs on Fanmail.biz...?? I don't agree with it

Unread post by johnnylightning »

I have noticed some people use fanmail.biz to try and sell autographs,i personally don't agree with it because that is what ebay is for and this site should be to discuss autograph collecting, post addresses and successes or failures but not to use it as your own personal ebay without the fees.I don't personally agree with selling autographs you collect but i understand some people might want the money but i don't think it should be allowed on fanmail.biz because it can attract non personal collectors who are only in it for the money because they know people on this site are into autographs obviously and they think its a good place to sell their stuff. Any comments would be appreciated. ;-) I think some of you know of the few sellers on here im mainly talking about to.

Now See I Dont Agree With You.. And I Will Tell You Why. I LOVE The Fact That People Sell Autographs On Here Because It Gives Them a Chance To Make a Lil MONEY And It Gives Us a chance To Gain More Autographs From Stars We LOVE :) And HONESTLY, Not Alot of YOUNGPeople Have Ebay AND/OR Paypal (Nor Do They Trust EBAY..ESP. With SIGNED PHOTOS) So I LOVE The Fact That They Can Take USD or MONEY ORDERS.

Now In Refrence To It Being Fake: I Just Think You Need To Do EXTENSIVE Research On The Star's Autographs And If You Jus BUY STUFF TO BUY STUFF (And Have a Bigger Collection) Then Later In TIme You Find Out You Bought a FAKE ONE I Think THATS YOUR FAULT! :)
Just Research! :)

So I Think Selling Signed Photos is a GREAT IDEA! :)

People need to make money! {up} I have no problem with people selling on here. We have trusted members that sell the real deal. I can't say the same thing about Ebay sellers, there are a lot of scumbags selling crap out there. Plus, we have a whole community that will comment on whether someone on here is selling fakes and that seller will be dealt with accordingly. Ebay is too large to to deal with each scumbag individually. Ebay is not the place uneducated, rookie buyers, because they have no idea what they are doing.

That's why we do have the requirements of 100 constructive posts and I believe 3 months of membership before they are allowed to sell on here. That way people won't just sign up and start selling right away.

I actually totally agree with you! The selling of autographs on this site in a way can lead to the spamming of a celebrity! If you didn't want the picture in the first place- don't ask, or you asked for multiples and want to sell the "extras" (which is B.S., I have autographs from some stars 5xs and I wouldn't sell any of them!) I feel that selling on this site takes away from the hobby of collecting TTM, which can indirectly lead to PP's, AP's and Secretarial Signatures or just not having the chance to get someone you would really want! I actually rarely buy autographs and those are never as special to me so I always try to get them myself (even if buying it means it is cheaper!) Sorry for the rant but I have felt the same way as you for a while! Sell your 'extras' on ebay!

On a side note if you want to make some cash, sell stamps! There are many people willing to pay a little extra for that foreign postage they can't get!
Please do not message me for any reason- I will not respond, I no longer use this website.

I don't care what people do with their stuff. This is America, a country where you are free to do as you wish.

I never had to sell any of my stuff yet (knock on wood), but if the time comes and things get a bit harder financialy I will list some doubles I have. Why you ask? To use that money for stamps, supplies, and photos; so I can continue to collect.

You have to remember things are tough in this country right now. Some members are out of work and need some money. Not eveyrone is in it for greed, some of the folks selling their stuff don't enjoy doing it. It's necessity.

What I despise are TTM members who list AP and PP and Studio FanMail on ebay as genuine. They know it's fake. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!

The majority of people that I've met on this website were not from America... There are countries from all over the world being represented on fanmail.biz

Regarding the original post: It doesn't really bother me that people do it, but I don't like buying autographs. The only one I've purchased is one that I am fairly sure will never sign TTM again (Ringo Starr). For me, most of the fun of autographs is writing a letter and getting a response. That is taken away if I am just buying it from some random person online.
Favorite autographs received: ALAN RICKMAN!!, Henry Ian Cusick (received IP!), John Saul, J.K. Rowling, R.L. Stine, Smokey Robinson, Emma Thompson, Alex Trebek, Colin Firth, David Tennant, John Simm and loads more! I love them all :D

Most wanted: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Morrissey, Naveen Andrews, Sean Connery
