hello
I would like to know how a fanmail office does work ?
are they a society based on stars request or something like that ?
or are they only a fans groupement which start a small office ?
when letters arrives in fans offices, fans officiers can open every letters ?
fans officiers would decide which letters to show to the star in question ?
because I don't want to have any othographs
I just wanted to read a letter to a star
and I would like it read it by hisself
I dont want that the fanmails office read it before
perhaps they dont want to give it to the star in question
are all the adresses on this forum only fanmail ones ?
because I saw some which looks like real home adresses
perhaps I m wrong about this point ?
thanks for helping me
regards
how fanmails does work ?

Re: how fanmails does work ?
The majority of stars will have their fanmail opened by someone else. They don't have time to do it themselves. It's done by someone in their employ, either a personal assistant or someone at their agency.
A number will read their own fanmail, some will read one or two, or all of it (depending on their popularity), others will never read any (preferring instead to sign more autograph requests). There is no hard and fast rule, each celebrity will be different.
In my opinion, you should never write anything that you wouldnt want someone else to see. Afterall, what on earth could you possibly want to keep hidden?

99% of celebs would have their mail vetted by someone else, if only to keep the loonies away from them!
As Osiris says, you shouldn't write anything that someone else can't read. The nicer your letter is, the more chance it'll get passed along.

Actors are the people in the business who get huge amounts of fan mail, this is all generally dealt with in the same way. When letters arrive, they are kept for a particular star in a box, it's someone's job to go through those letters, opening them and making sure they get rid of any hate mail. The "best" letters are kept in the box, this will then be taken to the recipient's house on a regular basis, maybe monthly or quarterly, for them to read/respond. The writers of the more plain letters, ie. "Dear John, I am a big fan of your work, best of luck, sincerely, Sarah Johnson" and "Please can I have an autograph" are often sent the generic "pre-signed" photo from the huge stack and then their letter is scrapped. Agencies tend to just send on those special letters and letters that appear to be from genuine fans with something really great to say, they don't want to waste the recipient's time with maybe 3000 letters a month that are just a paragraph long and all saying the same thing.
Singers and bands don't get as much fan mail, and honestly they see very, very small amounts of it unless it gets to them via a show or they are given mail in person at a meet and greet. Most record labels and management companies already have pre-signed photos to send out for when your letters arrive. Sometimes, when the band or artist visits their label for photo approvals or meetings they will pick up some fan mail, or sign individual pieces that have arrived recently, which is when some of us get that dedicated photo or personal item back.

Re: how fanmails does work ?
I think what others said here is mostly incorrect,i think some big stars who do get hudreds or thousands of letters a month would have them pre read or never read thats true but most celebrities you are writing to are not going to be big movie stars or super popular just tv stars and b list actors and i believe they read all their own mail if they choose to read it at all...

One more thing the best way to get a big stars autograph and know they probably read your letter is via venue because they get way less mail and have less of their "People" hanging around...

With respect, a friend of mine is a tv/movie star and what I wrote above is what he has told me about his experiences with fan mail.

Re: how fanmails does work ?
Well with respect i disagree, everyone is diff and i have received alot of notes and letters with my autographs wheer the celebrity mentions things i wrote in the letter so i know they read them, and i highly doubt most celebs have their letters pre read thats ridiculous lol Like i said the ones who get hundreds and thousands monthly maybe... ![Canada [ca]](./images/smilies/flag_ca.gif)
