Signing Homemade Photos

Unread post by Sasorikiller »

I wanted to mail the former Washington Redskins runningback George Rogers, but I have nothing to send with a nice Redskins logo on it. You see, I have a Kodak camera and several Redskins stuff like hats and footballs, so I want to take a group picture of all of my sstuff and print it out to get autographed. My question is: Is it safe to autograph digital camera printed pictures without any types of fading or anything? Or will some sort of acids mess it all up. In that case, I'll just send an index card.

I'm sure you can find a nice photo somewhere if you look. But I wouldn't see why it would fade any more than any other picture. GL

I print out my own photos (for about 80-85% of my requests anyway). They shouldn't fade as long as you store them correctly!

Yes! That's perfectly fine! If you want, you can take your camera to Wal-mart or store that does photos and have them print the photo you took on their professional printers. they use high-quality inks and photo paper. {up} I use them all the time when getting my photos done.

Thanks Dakota, Bob, and Ryan J., this makes everything so much easier. I will PM all of you with the results. I should mail him by February. I'm confident with my camera and printer, they have not done me wrong in the past.

It depends just like any other photos on how it's printed, if you do it at home then you need to use special paper that is archival, because if not then in about 15-20 years it will start to turn yellow. Use something like Ilford, or go to somewhere like Walgreen to print your photos. But if should be fine.

Those will work, but I have noticed after a while where people have put their fingers on the photo, the oils discolor those spots over time. Not sure why.

Oh, dear! If I never handled it again after I put it in a frame will it do that from when I handled it to mail it? That is alarming. In any event, I'll send anyway and wait for a response :)
