NINE premiere (Daniel Day-Lewis)

I went to the Nine premiere. Dame Judi Dench rolled down her window to sign some autographs going into the premiere. Daniel Day-Lewis came in and was the only person to cross the street to sign. He signed a lot of autographs and it was INSANE for him. Somehow I got my photo signed in the madness. Penelope Cruz smiled and waved at me from inside her car when I asked her to sign. On the way out, no one signed because the security was horrible. Tobey Maguire wanted to sign, but the security blocked him off. He signed walking on the street though. Marion Cotillard wanted to sign BADLY, but security just kept walking her to the car. A ton of people went to the premiere, but none signed on the way out:
- Daniel Day-Lewis (only signed on the way in)
- Nicole Kidman (in her usual non signing mood, waved and smiled at us)
- Marion Cotillard (she wanted to sign badly)
- Dame Judi Dench
- Kate Hudson and her mother, Goldie Hawn
- Fergie and Josh Duhamel
- Donald Trump
- Oliver Stone
- Rudy Guiliani
- Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou
- Olsen Twins
- Madonna
- Elisabeth Moss (very nice, she took photos with us)
- Naomi Watts
- Pedro Almodovar (walked down the street and wouldn't look at us)
- Tony Bennett
- Tobey Maguire (wanted to sign, but security blocked him off)

Only autograph I got:

Didn't care about either of them, but Fergie didn't sign because she was with her husband, Josh Duhamel. Kate Hudson and her mother Goldie Hawn rushed to their car to go to the after party.

This statement saying "the celebrity wanted to sign badly" isn't necessaraley true. If he or she really wanted to sign they would. I have actually heard celebrities tell security not to tell them what to do and they will sign.
We had a smaller premiere out here in Hollywood. The only cast members that showed up were Nichole, Penelope, and Fergie. And they all signed. Nichole and Penelope were as nice as can be. Nichole a non signer? She rarely comes out in public but everytime she does a premiere I always manage to get her autograph.
Now getting Daniel Day was a good score for you. Congrats! I am shocked that he actually crossed the street and signed for you! He usually isn't that nice.

hmm... he refused to roll his window down when traffic was backed up in front of the London Hotel. I was standing in front of the London, and was able to get Judi Dench. After that, I went to the Ed Sullivan Theater and waited for Letterman to come out.

Maybe Nicole signs in LA, but she rarely signs in NY. DDL is a lot nicer than Nicole is.

I kinda agree with you Bud.If a celeb wants to sign badly they would....... I am surprised Tobey has been signing lately.Back in the Spiderman days he was notorious for being a bad autographer.Things change I guess.......
