Another thing, instead of the heavy manila 6x9 envelopes, Wal-Mart (and probably a lot of other places too) has envelopes that are like 5 3/4 X 8 3/4. It may not sound like a difference, but when you're talking about letters over an ounce needing additional postage, it does come in handy. Now they're about as thin as computer paper, and you can see through it, but if you write on a letter on a full sheet of paper, you can fold your SASE in half, include that inside your letter which is also folded in half, along with your cd cover and no one can see inside you envelope. I hope this all makes sense!
I'm also a portrait artist!

I just print them. You can fit two on one photo paper page, so unless it's my absolute favorite guys, I'd rather do that. Most cd booklets can be sent with just a 6x9 envelope and one stamp. Some of the heavier ones need a .17 stamp in addition, especially on the way TO the person, because you have the extra 6x9 SASE folded up in there. The one the other day from Laura Pleasants had the Kylesa cd, a letter and a couple fliers in it, and still only needed one stamp.
Oh thanks man! Well today (going out tomorrow) I sent a letter, SASE, and CD book to Bruce Kulick. I only put 1, 44 cent stamp of it. Hope that'll do! Plus the book is the Very Best of Kiss so its very thin (if you haven't seen it, its just The cover, 2 pages, and the back)

Wow.....the Ozzy/Sharon successes and the Steve Vai autographs are awesome!! Did you guys get those TTM?

Not sure if these fit into the "Heavy Metal" category, but I got TTM successes back from my two favorite guitarists this past week. First, I got a signed guitar pick-guard from Slash, and then a couple of days ago I got two signed photos back from Eddie Van Halen. After getting those two, my collecting is all downhill from here on out. :)

Here are pics if you're interested....
