I normally send out light items (photos and cards) and just put stamps on a sase. I have some books that I would like to get signed but was wondering about a sase for heavier items. The books are all heavier than 13 OZ first class post so will have to be metered. Can I have the post office weigh the sase with the book in it BEFORE I seal it and have it metered from that location back to me?
I would just put in an addressed envelope and money but I want to make it as easy as possible on the recipient.
How to send a heavy item (a book) and include sase

I'm not sure if your post office would weigh it for you, but if not, you can always use the Automated Postal Center which is available at many post offices, and has a built-in scale.
Send it via Media Mail and not Parcel.. you'll save more that way.
