Do you type or hand write a fan letter?

Unread post by raiderxx »

Ok. So I'm new. :P I was wondering if most of you handwrite your letters, or type them? I feel like hand writing would make them more personal, but I don't know if some actors would take the time to read them.. *shrug*

What's your opinion? What do you find works best?

Thank you so much! I want to get a couple letters out today.

I always hand write my requests. Either way is OK but I like to give it that personal touch.

I ALWAYS hand write all my letters. I've gotten replies back form celebs saying how much they enjoy handwritten ones SO much more than typed. {up}

I always type my request letters. In closing I always double space, type my name and then hand sign my signature. It looks something like this...

Respectfully,

I have been collecting for nearly 40 years and have always hand written (printed) my LOR's. As stated above it is a little more personal and I sometime get short notes in response which are nice bonuses.
I have been asked many times about trading / selling some of my autographs. I am sorry but my collection is not and will not be for sale.

My handwriting is also terrible. But I write out my letters by hand anyway. I just have to make sure I take the time to be sure it is readable. I do think it makes a difference, it seems that most people have said that they have had better success from writing by hand vs. typing.

I do think most celebrities read the letters. Some sports personalities don't. The reason I think that most do read the letters is because of the threat that the autograph could end up on eBay. I think they read the letters to try to discern between fans and dealers.

if i had decent handwriting i would hand write,but my hand writing is really bad,so i type my letters out.more convenient for both me and the celebrity {up} . i know its not as personal but trust me if you had handwriting as bad as mine you would do the same :lol: .

edit. i also sign my letters always
