help printing photos at home please look

Unread post by smackedsillyxxx »

Hey, I know there is a thread already for this and i am sorry but I had a few questions that were not answered.
I already found large size images off google that I want to use. My question is why type of photo paper do you guys
use? Do you use any software to print it? I want to make sure it fills the 8x10 with no cropping or borders.
I already have photoshop. Thanx.

If you doing it from photo shop, just make your document size 8x10 and import the photo you want, copy/paste it onto your template and resize it till it fills up most of the 8x10 space. You may need to crop some after you print, but if you have a cutter it should be no problem. {up}

You can use regular photo paper, but that tends have more problems with the autographs smearing when the celeb puts them back in the SASE. You can also use heavy duty white cardstock.

Its up to you whether you like to use matte or glossy paper. Use whichever finish you would like your photos to be.

Personally, I like my photos printed on matte paper. You don't normally see fingerprints on the photo when handled but isn't as shiny as glossy paper.

IMO, glossy photos look better but as fan mail may be handled by a number of people there's the risk of fingerprints on the photo if it isn't handled carefully.

I use Photoshop myself, I set it to 800x1000 pixels and 100dpi. Then I just use a large picture (usually at least 2400x3000, but sometimes as low as 1200x1500) and resize it down to fit.

I've always used glossy. I've been meaning to try matte (which I use with my normal photos), but I use online printing services and I always forget to set it to matte. :neutral:
