Re: Moderators...
I agree, 100 moderators would be a lot. But realistically there is only half that number, at most, that are still active and that participate. The list just hasn’t been updated in a long time, that’s all. We've been after Admin for a while now to update the list. If Admin did this, you would see that the moderation team is actually only made up of 40-50 members max. For example, only 3 GM's are currently active (3/7). This is about the same ratio for both Mod's and TM's, roughly 40-50%. I think we are at a good number right now, we have just enough to effectively run this forum. We do a lot behind the scenes. We spend a lot of our own time improving this forum (catching spammers, deleting topics, moving topics, editing topics, locking topics, answering questions, etc.). We are all volunteers, no one is getting paid. I hope it's appreciated!

Re: Moderators...
Even 50 would still be excessive. I'm on forums with far, far more members and activity, and they operate smoothly with fewer moderators. If you actually think 50 is a "good number" and "just enough to effectively run the forum", then a lot of the moderators obviously don't deserve the job because it does not take that many to maintain a forum this size.

95% of the TMs are pointless, and shouldnt be anywhere near a position of "power" as they let it go to their heads and ruin threads.
Re: Moderators...
Well thank you for your thoughts on the matter, I have been an active and quite helpful member (I think) in that time. Well Fingers crossed!

Sometimes you have to wonder whether this forum is a dictatorship, or inmates running the asylum. A moderation team should be about quality, not quantity.mufcdd wrote:Ive been saying this for 4 years, and I actually got banned as an Autograph Expert/Moderator for challenging admin on this numerous times. 95% of the TMs are pointless, and shouldnt be anywhere near a position of "power" as they let it go to their heads and ruin threads.
beecs, do know that absolutely none of this negativity is directed towards you. It's just the system.beecs wrote:Well thank you for your thoughts on the matter, I have been an active and quite helpful member (I think) in that time. Well Fingers crossed!

Re: Moderators...
Please be aware that the majority of the moderation team have the same feelings dfreely, but our attempts to improve the forum are largely ignored and we must work with the system Admin has put in place. We do as best we can.
