weird stuff is goin on

Unread post by marokee »

k
somethign weird is going on
there is a "spree" of responses that are unusual from the celebrities usual signing patterns...

this is by no means supposed to offend anyone....
there is a response from Nancy reagan that is not like any from her in before successes....
there is a response from Stephen harper, Prime minister of Canada thats unlike responses from him....
and there was a tom hanks response that is different than any other anyone has seen on here before...

either:
something is hinky with these members
or
they paid the signer
or
they wrote really epic letters...

has anyon thought about this???

I noticed that too. The longer you do this, the more you send long shots and the better your letters get. I know I have a couple of long shots planned, Sometimes out of the ordinary things happen, but it does vary from success to success. I know someone posted a Stephen King success (he doesn't sign TTM), but his sec sends out a letter explaining that he doesn't sign, I think the person got confused and thought that the letter was handsigned by King.

My weird successes, I got Jimmy Carter to sign a habitat picture (which I'm told he never does)

I got an auto from Andy Buckley, I wrote to him at his day job at Merrill Lynch (crazy isn't it)

and I got a personalized Stan Lee

someone here got a Mark Hamill, I think they managed to get it because they wanted him to sign a joker picture and not a star wars one, these crazy things happen, and I like to think it happens more because of the holidays

I would have to agree with both of you. Some rather odd success from many high profile people. It's a new year maybe new signing habits?? [us]

Yes I thought the same thing myself. However; and I'm not saying this is what happened, the letter probably played a HUGE role in the success. You would be both suprised and saddened by how low some will go to get an autograph. Everything from I'm a war vet, I lost my legs in Iraq, my Parents are both dying, I have cancer and my dying wish is to get your autograph, down to My family was captured by the taliban and being held captive. I will feel so much better if you send me an autograph.

Then there are those who get kicks playing with others minds. Ther are planty of occuarances where a member creates a really rare "success" simply to rile the boards for their enjoyment.

I've been doing this for so long nothing suprises me at this point. I've realized LONG ago it's not worth worrying about what someone else has or what they claim they got TTM. use that time/effort to send your own letters and build your own collection.

One thing is nobody is impossible. The biggest stars might send out afew autographs every blue moon. Just because they don't regularly sign dosen't mena they refuse all mail requests. Sometimes the success comes from a provate home address or direct from their agent but the member posts they got it from the database address. Anything is possible.

There was a blue moon last month- it explains everything!

Not saying this is the case but all someone has to do is go to google images and find autographed photos of any and everyone. *cough*Liz Taylor*cough* I'm not saying someone is being dishonest per se, just seems odd when no one else on here has had any success with such rare celebs that usually would never sign TTM.

I'm sorta guilty when it comes to putting "extra" stuff in my letters... but, at least I don't lie about it. I ship off to Basic Training for the U.S. Navy on March 16, and I've been including that bit of info in my letters, especially if the celebs I'm writing to previously serviced in the service.
