Random question
I sent out a couple 8 by 10s to Jessica Alba the other day. I know I probably won't get them back but what the hay. I was wondering, what do you guys write in a letter to someone like her. Im sure tons of guys think shes amazing looking and you cant just put your hot can i get your autograph. Same with Hayden Penattiere I think too. What do you guys put in a letter like that?
Re: Random question
Well, I personally believe that there should be something more than "she's hot" compelling you to write to her. Have you seen any movies she's been in? Have you seen her at an award show or something like that? If so, that is the kind of stuff you should include in your letter.
Favorite autographs received: ALAN RICKMAN!!, Henry Ian Cusick (received IP!), John Saul, J.K. Rowling, R.L. Stine, Smokey Robinson, Emma Thompson, Alex Trebek, Colin Firth, David Tennant, John Simm and loads more! I love them all
Most wanted: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Morrissey, Naveen Andrews, Sean Connery

Re: Random question
yeah thats what i did...also, do you guys hand write all your letters to anyone or type them?...i usually type and sign them but i hand wrote to alba
Re: Random question
I handwrite all of my letters. I've heard that the success rate is higher if you write them rather than typing them.

Re: Random question
Is there evidence for this? I've always alternated between typing and handwriting and had the same amount of success with both. I think the content of the letter is more important than the presentation personallymorwesong wrote:I handwrite all of my letters. Re: Random question
I don't have any personal evidence as I've never typed a letter, but there were several people on this discussion board that seem to think you have better success if you write the letters.
I just prefer to hand write my letters because I think it adds a personal touch.

Re: Random question
I think hand written is much better personally because it shows you put alot more into it and it is alot more personal, and as far as jessica alba i think you can write to her just because shes hot,lol Just don't say that in the letter,i did like jessica alba on dark angel but i think everything she has been in since has kinda sucked but i would still want her autograph so if i wrote her i would say i liked her in dark angel and obviously i would lie a bit and say she was great in other stuff too,lol I never tell anyone they are hot i only comment on their work not their looks because im sure they get enough of that already.
Re: Random question
in letters just put what you feel...
*how tlented you think she is...
*does she inspire you
*what r your fav. jessica movies
*tell the person any special situations or stories from your life that relate directly to his or her work.
*conclude by wishing the celebrity luck or telling him or her how much you look forward to future work
*then ask if she can sign your photos...
*say thank you.

Re: Random question
That's fair enough, perhaps we should ask people when they post successes if they hand wrote or typed it. Then we can see, gosh I'm anal retentive.morwesong wrote:I don't have any personal evidence as I've never typed a letter, but there were several people on this discussion board that seem to think you have better success if you write the letters.

On topic - I think it is wrong to write to someone purly due to their attractiveness unless that's their main way of making money ala a glamour model.
Although I am guilty of sometimes writing to a celebrity over another because I find them attractive, but I also admire them for their acting or singing or presenting skills.
