Printing Pics

Unread post by bullitt »

Hi,
I was wondering what US stores that are widespread all over the country (Target, CVS etc...) have you guys had the best luck printing pictures without having issues of copyright infringement, as well as having the best quality of printing. Can you also list prices from stores. There are a few pics I want to send but it seems like it will be a lot of hassle to have them printed and even more expensive for a picture/poster that I might not even like to be purchased. So any help on these issues would be helpful.
Thanks,

Well, it all depends on how strict they are on the copyright laws. Wal-Mart refused to print for me, but I know others on the forum (RyanJ for one) use them. I have used Walgreens and Sams and they haven't given me any grief. As for prices, you can check their websites to get a full list.

It depends on not only the exact store, but also the paticular employee who prints them. I have about 8 walgreens in my city, only 2 will print the pics I need. 1 walgreens will only print them because the 3rd shift people don't care if it's professional, and another walgreens has always printed my pictures without a problem. If you submit them online, it doesn't help your chances at all.

I have been using for most of my pictures, snapfish.com, I've never had a problem with them and from what I hear no one else has either.

Most places print for the same amount of money, it's usually $3 for an 8x10

Thanks, what do they say when they won't print them? Is it kind of awkward?

They'll say that they can't print professonal pictures, some people can be a little rude about it, but for me the hardest part about it is pretending that I didn't know, and it can all be a little weird given what I'm printing, it's hard to be not embarressed especially if they bring out the pictures, I almost feel a need to explain why I'm printing pictures of Yoda and Super Dave. They probably think I'm weird.

Thats why I stopped printing them at Walgreens, it made me feel a little weird at times

Yep, like BossC said I use my local Wal-Mart to print mine. They've never given me a hassle and I get great quality. Actully just got some photos printed today for Corbin Bleu!! :D

Even of things that are completely obvious? I was planning on doing a picture from Avatar, and it has one of the Navi in the picture, so it's pretty obvious.

How would they know in the store you haven´t bought professional pics in digital format at GettyImages for printing for example?!

Alright, I'm trying to print my own photos, since I can't find anyone around here to print them for me. My question is, I go to google, search for the image, find it in "large" then transfer it to a memory card in my printer. I think am able to use the screen on my printer to select 8.5x11, but my picture gets cut off some.

for example
http://www.moviewallpaper.net/wpp/Zach_ ... _1_800.jpg

when I try and print that as an 8.5x11, it cuts off part of the R. Any suggestions?

I use a Word document to size up by pictures and I have never had problems.
