I am really enjoying it especially since its in my home country! I am really proud that we just won our first gold on home soil since the Montreal games in the 70s! I love figure skating, hockey, luge and moguls.

Sorta. The opening ceremony was sorta "meh", but it was kinda funny seeing those Koreans give Apolo Ono a medal yesterday. I'm also following the TV ratings because that stuff is kinda interesting to me.
And maybe it's just me, but doesn't this feel like the first Winter Olympics in a very long time where a female figure skater isn't being pushed as a star?

i am also Canadian so i am very proud that we got our first gold on home soil, and i think that Alexandre bilodeau is truly a great human being. i am kinda a trader though i will admit lol. i am a big Apolo anton ohno fan so even when he is up against Italy and Canada i want him to win. I am also big fans of of Shaun white and Louie vito in snowboarding and i cheer for them no matter what also.
Canada and the USA are doing really well though so i am happy but i hope Italy can win there first gold soon. and i agree with you on figure skating i dont know why they are not though.

Well, if it's any consolation, I think Ohno did most of his training in Vancouver during his childhood, so he's sorta like an honorary Canadian. *shrugs*
And the lack of a female figure skating star is like a new feeling to me.. seems like the past two decades always had a star that was also a household name - Kerrigan, Yamaguchi, Kwan, Cohen, etc. I'm sure the skaters now are good in their own right, but unless you followed skating, you wouldn't know who they were.

We haven't won anything yet...Nobody is expecting more than 3 medals but I started to wonder if we'll leave Canada with 1. I hope so.

Lindsey Jacobellis was hilarious.
I like how Canada really seems to be bringing their A game to these Olympics.

Re: are you enjoying the 2010 olympics
I think the olympics are a 5 billion dollar waste of money for us people in british columbia, and the taxpayers will be paying for the olympics for the next 20 years for something that the average person here can't afford to buy the tickets for anyways and thats if they could even get the time off work to go,thats if they even have a job...So waste of money we need new bridges and highways and housing and jobs not 2 weeks of showing off! That is the reality of it all and 90% of people living here agree with me but that doesn't get on tv !
Re: are you enjoying the 2010 olympics
I'm more a fan of the Summer Olympics but have watched a little bit of these games. I have no interest in figure skating, but like the Hockey and skiing. Curling is fun to watch too.
