JSA or PSA which is best?
I'm quite confused about this, is it better to have an iten that is JSA authenticated or PSA?
Or are they as reliable as each other.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Both are good, as well as Global Authentication.

I gather then all three places are seen as valid testimony if your trying to authenticate something for legal reasons?

can they tell if its a secretary or not too?
Re: JSA or PSA which is best?
Yes, I got to believe they would be able to determine Secs. And of what I've herd, global is the worst out of the three. They will pass just about anything. I would say PSA is the
best.

Good to know, I didn't get the sense GAI was the best from what other people had been saying on the net.

JSA and PSA are great, but Global is horrible. Never use them!bud simpson wrote:Both are good, as well as Global Authentication.

Thanks -Lil1- for the siggy!

Don't use authentication services unless you're planning on selling an autograph. While it gives buyers peace of mind, these "authenticators" have been proven again and again to be fradulent--All they care about is taking your money.
I've seen WAY too many authenticated fakes to ever consider using an authentication service.
But, if you insist on "authenticating," go with PSA. From my experience in buying autographs, it seems JSA will put a sticker on anything.

Re: JSA or PSA which is best?
I usually go with JSA over PSA- but as Chris has said, both companies have mistakenly certified things that should not have been. Hence why no authenticator will give more than an "opinion" [small print saying that in a court of law... neither will be held responsible for wrong certification].
In theory it comes down to personal preference a lot- but it can also come down to the subject matter and specific person. For things like sports figures I always go with JSA- they specialize in sports and vintage while PSA does just about anybody.
We actually did an independent test and using 3 signatures (1 authentic full signature, 1 authentic scrawl [like you might get if they're in a rush], and 1 fake). PSA certified all 3 and when contacted about this they said they wouldn't be held responsible and have since voided the PSA serial (which we're fine with). **I can't go into specifics because I don't want to risk any legal issues with the company, but nobody's perfect. And for reference, we had permission from the person to use their signature and so it wasn't forgery. All 3 pieces have since been discarded.
I also tend to like JSA's LOA, but that's a matter of opinion. You also have to consider that JSA will not certify certain things that PSA will (oddly shaped items for instance, JSA is more stringent on what they will and will not accept).

If you have any questions about what I just rambled, feel free to PM me.
**Global Authentication is Ebay recommended, but having never worked with them- I have no idea... haven't heard anything good, so I'd stay away from them.

Re: JSA or PSA which is best?
So JSA is better for sports, but PSA is better for all signatures?
I'm interested in finding someone who would be good at authenticating Star Wars signatures from the OT and PT - mainly lead actors and principal behind-the-scenes, does anyone specialize in actors of a certain movie genre?
I was thinking there must be some people out there, considering the popularity of collecting cast and crew items from TV shows and movies.
