Re: Is there anybody on here who is actually happy about success
After reading the subject of this thread the first thought that went through my mind was to say, "No, I'm miserable every time I get a success."
But in any event, after someone goes through all the trouble to turn on the caps key to type "SUCCESS" and to add several exclamation marks, I find myself unable to ruin their joy. Even if I know it's a facsimile of an autopenned secretarial signature, I just can't bring myself to say so.

I can't stand the passive aggressive people who come into a thread where the OP specifically asks that no one comment on authenticity and offer their congratulations while making nonchalant remarks about how it's a shame that the celeb doesn't sign ttm. That happens a lot in Clint Eastwood/John Travolta threads and it makes me want to call them out.

I see both sides of this discussion but when some one is bragging about getting a known sec or Ap as authentic then they deserve to be told in a nice way
I will NOT PM you an address.
I will assist you in getting said address.
IE: give you pointers on where to get it.

Your one of the worst!!!!!!!!!! You are one of the members constantly shooting off about authenticity without knowing what you are talking about. I'm honestly shocked you even made that comment considering you are so guilty of doing it.Ryco11757 wrote:i dont like it when someone says the authenticy of the autograph without the user even asking! every john travolta/clint eastwood. some bone head likes to yell out ITS A SEC ()
I actually enjoy seeing others reports. It's the nasty comments that make good memebrs leave or discourage members from posting a rare success because of all the fake, sec, PP, AP, or my all time favorite "no pics, no proof".
If there's one thing I've learned in my 25 or so years doing this; you will never find another hobby with so many jealous "hobbyists". There seems to be a constant rivalry of he who has the most wins and he who has something better than oneselves, the item must be fake.

Okay! I see both sides of this argument.
I know we should be honest about what is and what isn't authentic but I think if the person who received it is happy about it, why not respect his wishes?
IMO--- I do wish some of the rudeness would go away though, just because someone is trying to help doesn't mean you have to be all like "um, I didn't ask.
" they're just trying to help. Why would you want to live your life keeping something that's not even authentic? Just my opinion.

Not trying to be rude at all, but I agree; you are guilty of doing this.chriscollector wrote:Your one of the worst!!!!!!!!!! Yeh, I would agree with the general consensus. Frankly, if someone is happy, I cannot see the POINT of ruining it for them. It gains nothing for me, and simply ruins it for someone else, most likely a kid. Plus, it could well drive away people from posting successes, as they do not want their's shot down to to speak.
This is, although completely different in scale, the EXCACT theme of the end of the movie "The Dark Knight"-the whole, although it may not be the truth, people deserve to have their faith rewarded. It's a very good notion, thing
Yes, but their "help" is not wanted- therefore it is not being helpful, it is being rude. Plus, half the time their intent is not to help at all, it is simply to annoy or demoralise.
Agree with your feelings too

YES, YES YES YES!!!!Lol, That is what I hate the most. I know people like that, and it is the most annoying behavioural trait I know.scarybun wrote:I can't stand the passive aggressive people who come into a thread where the OP specifically asks that no one comment on authenticity and offer their congratulations while making nonchalant remarks about how it's a shame that the celeb doesn't sign ttm. Could not agree more, it is also my opinion that you are one of the worst if not the worst offender.chriscollector wrote:Your one of the worst!!!!!!!!!! That being said, I do feel if a comment is done with respect and to educate the poster and other members that might waste there time and money because they think they will get the real deal, I dont see anything wrong with commenting.
1) This is an autograph site and the definition of an autograph is a signiture handwritten by its author
2) There are no rules against posting comments on authentisity (although it should be done respectfully and from people that know what they are talking about)
