Oscars.. what did you think?

Unread post by dfreely »

I thought it was pretty boring.. no real surprises, very little if any competition. The Kanye moment and Ben Stiller were pretty funny though.

And I wasn't completely paying attention, but did they skip John Hughes and Patrick Swayze during the "in memoriam"? I know John Hughes had his own tribute earlier in the show, but I didn't hear Swayze anywhere.. then again, I wasn't completely paying attention. There's also a lot of buzz as to why Farrah wasn't included (I guess she was really more of a TV star?) and why Michael Jackson was.

I was so dissapointed that Christopher Plummer didn't get one. :( I really thought he deserved to win!

It was all quite predictable, was'nt it? I am happy for Bridges and Bullock, as many people say, they are two Hollywood stars who you would love to share a drink with. I am super happy Avatar did not win anything big, but on the same token, I am devastated that "Precious" won awards where "Up in the Air" should have won.

Avatar got whooped so that made my Oscars. Up won a few awards so that was really all I was interested in. Pretty boring ceremony really. Maybe when The Hobbit is released and is up for loads of awards, I'll have a good Oscar year again.
