It would really depend on whether I could obtain them TTM, how rare their signtaure was etc.
I want to eventually complete my Lord of the Rings cast collection. Christopher Lee is the thorn in my side, as he charges £70+ on his website and I wouldn't even get a dedication. I would never pay that much. If he did a convention and if I could get his signature on something of my choice with a dedication, and it was only £20 then I would do it, as I get to meet him as well.
People who go to conventions and are easy to get for free, depending who it was, I would pay it as I get to meet them as well.
How much would you pay a celebrity to sign?

i wouldnt pay, because usually i dont have extra money, i always have to save money and plan on what im buying, as someone mentioned 5$ would be fair enough for autographed photo and postage.

I go to a lot of book signings. Considering you HAVE to buy the book at full price it is like paying the person to sign. I think the highest I've paid is about $35 for either Hillary Clinton or Sylvester Stallone.
On the other hand if I ever had the opportunity I'd pay $100+ to have Paul McCartney sign something IP.

Over 9,000 requests sent since 1986.
Re: How much would you pay a celebrity to sign?
I have paid a lot for many different people for autographs in person. But since realizing that many sign TTM, I won't go over 25 for an autograph

Waiting for many former and current US Politicians and Historical Figures:
Most Wanted--Henry Kissinger.(PM if you have one and want to trade)
Baseball HOF collection--40 and counting
2011 has been my best year for autographs over 300 in so far

The most I've paid so far is $25, especially for someone who isn't as well-known/retired.
If I ever got to chance to meet someone who rarely signs (like Sir Paul McCartney, as a few of you have mentioned,) I think I'd be more than happy to pay way more than that.
