Storing autographs in a binder

Hello!

I've read around and decided to keep my autographs safe in plastic sleeves in a binder. I'm gonna put one or two sheets of paper between each side of a plastic sleeve. The problem is that I can't find a way to secure the pictures safe in the sleeve - they will probably move freely and it's not only non-aesthetic, but the surface is also gonna get scratched with time.

I'm using A4 plastic sleeves with A4 binder and 18x13cm photos. Share your experience and ideas please.

You might be able to find plastic pages that fit a specific sized photo (acid free and archival safe, of course) by shopping at various hobby stores, office supply stores, photography stores, and the like. Then you don't have to worry about the photos slipping around in an oversized sleeve.

Nice idea, thanks, but I live in Bulgaria and wasn't able to find any photo protective sleeves like the Ultra-Pro ones :S

By the way, any pictures of autograph binders would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, sorry. I didn't know your locality. In that case, you could check on eBay. I sometimes have to order from them since I can't always find what I need locally.

Yup, I think I will order from eBay. But the card and postcard sleeves from Ultra-Pro are too small and the magazine sleeves are too big. It's 7x5" what I need, but there is nothing like that out there. Should I get the magazine sized bags (7x10") and fold them in half? Or is there any other company that produces such sleeves with more size options? Thanks.

EDIT: Found some 7x5"s on eBay(http://cgi.ebay.com/100-Postcard-Photo- ... 1435wt_939) - but is this real? These are not listed on their website.

Hello,

I use A4 acid free plastic wallets, with plain white card sheets inside to prevent bending and to hold the photos in place I use photo corners to stick them to the card. I find this works very well for me, and you can remove the photo without harming them at all if necessary.

Try looking up the British and/or Canadian version of eBay. Us Americans are the only country that hasn't converted to the metric system, so that could cause problems with fitting the photos you have. I'm sure there would be something you can use either from England or Canada versions of eBay.

I bought some 13x18 Bantex photo pockets from a local reseller. They say to be acid-free and archival safe on their website.

I use a magazine board by either Ultrapro or BCW (http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/Mag ... Boards.htm), these are 100% archival safe (acid-free). Then I use the Ultrapro or BCW Magazine 1 pocket page protector (http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/Mag ... t-Page.htm), acid-free and uv protection. Both the board and pages hold up to 8 1/2 inches x 11 inches (easily fits an 8x10 photo). The Ultrapro product is harder to find but if your local comic store or baseball/sportscard shops may have them...BCW is easy to find on their website. I figure since I'm putting a lot of effort into doing TTM's then I should respect my hobby!

It makes for a nice presentation and your photos are harder to bend with the board supporting the photo within the page...here's an example of what I do:


The white around the photo is the magazine board (pretty thick 22 points) and it's in a Ultra-Pro page (hologram near the 1st ring of the page)
