Sick of your Mailman & the fact he can't read DO NOT BEND!?!

Thanks for the tip, that's what used to happen, and still does sometimes. However, most of the time they just stuff it in. I don't know if I want to talk to the mailman or not, he's a pretty grumpy old man

A well placed bribe might help out too. Tell him your a collector and that the photos are getting messed up when he crams them in the box, then ask him if he woud leave the larger mail you get that says "DO NOT BEND" with the manager and you will make it worth his time come Christmas.

My postman always bends my autographs too He folds the whole pile of mail in half and puts it through the letter box altogether. I don't know why he would need to do that since my SASE's are always C5 envelopes - and all the other mail is just general junk or bills (so again C5 size or smaller). I really want to have a word with him but I am never at home at the time the post arrives. And I live in the UK so I have a postbox built into my door so I wouldn't be able to just simply get a bigger one! So for now I guess I will just have to live with receiving bent autographs Most of them can be straightened out if you put weight on top of it - but it's just unnecessary hassle!

Ugh, don't even get me started...

My postman never used to bend them, if they couldn't fit through the letterbox he would ring the bell and if nobody was in he'd take them back to the sorting office, now he just bends them without a second thought. Cardbacked envelope, envelopes with cardboard in, always marked "photos: please do not bend" - he'll bend it all. He even literally folds them right down the middle leaving a permanent crease in them.

Glad to know that it's not just my postman who is a tool...

For some odd reason, my mail usually comes to me damp...don't ask me why! But my mailman isn't great about not bending either. Oh well...

I just received a Doris Day autograph today, that was horribly bent!! But they where very small bends, like the kinds when someone is handling the photo carelessly. Plus you have to remember, if it gets bent, not in half like some say, but little bends, it might not be your mailman. Ours is very nice and doesn't bend stuff, so it must of happen while it was traveling.

Just sure you don't do what Monica did in "friends" and bribe him with cookies.
Cause you might start getting your mail with more than a big crease down the middle. You might get it with a big foot print right down the middle !!!!

I Use Pocket Pages for all my 8x10 autographs and a useful trick i learned was when it arrives bent
I stick the Photo in one of these pocket pages with a stiff piece of cardboard behind it and it straightens it right out
But again if your mailman is a tool and folds it right in half you always have the crease right down the center.

I've been lucky, from what I've recieved the worst it's ever been was that it was folded to fit in the mailbox in a U shape, that's fixable

I hate my mailman. Sometimes he'll just randomly not deliver stuff and I'll have to go pick it up. Like Saturday, I was expecting a baseball card and photo I had ordered off eBay to send to some players. The tracking codes told me they were at the post office that morning so I figured they'd be there that day. I wasn't busy at all so I sat by the front door watching TV and baseball most of the day. Mailman comes, nothing. I check the tracking codes online and it says "Failure to deliver, left a note". Not only did he never try to deliver them, but there was no note. I had to go down to the post office and pick them up and I never even would've known had I not checked online. If they didn't have tracking on them, I would've never gotten them and they would've been returned to sender. Just awful.
