is this overboard? or rude?

Unread post by fiz »

hi
i plan on sending out fanmail and requesting 2 pics signed. one for me and one for my friend.
the prob is, there is 2 different pics, and i want a certain one signed and i know she will want a certain one signed.
is this asking too much if i put in my letter something like " can you please sign the blue one for me friend, x, and the green one for me?"
im not sure. even asking for a personalization is a big thing but on top of that, specific pics? im still not sure and would really like your opinion
thanx

I have done that before with 2 different pics. I just explain in the letter that the one is for my friend. 9 times out of 10 everything works out fine. The little one percent I chalk up to the person not reading my letter and just signing the photos.

I would just put a little post it on the photo with "Please dedicate this to So-&-So if you don't mind the request". Sometimes they don't read the letter so it's best to do the post it system. That's how secs', stage managers, adn tour managers do it.

I will sometimes just put a post-it sticker on each picture with the the name I want on it so they get it on the right one and get correct spelling.
