Some advice for a newbie?

Unread post by c_lovatt »

Do I have to send a photo for my celebs to sign or will they provide their own? Is it rude to assume they will use their own? I have sent quite a few requests, all with photos but I am finding it hard to find appropriate pictures.

Thanks for your help in advance xx

You always increase your chance of getting something back if you send a photo. if you can not get a photo explain this in your letter and the celeb may include one for you. It has worked for me many times. Sometimes if you look around on these forums for people you are looking to send to, sometimes you will see that the celeb will send there own photo. Hope this helps you. Good luck with your requests. {up}

I wouldn't worry about a photo. I have never included a photo with my letters, just a SASE and i've had great success with it.
Good luck with your replies :D

Yeah, as was already said, check the feedback to see if the celeb provides their own photo ^_^ Personally, I only send one if I like an actor's specific character so I want them to sign one of a particular character, or if I find a really nice photo of the person online. Also remember that you may not get your photo back, as some celebs can only sign specific photos, or send PPs.

On who you are sending to I would just check feedback, like said before. It also depends where you send, (VV/fanmail address/etc

Most the time you should be okay without sending your own photo, but you might want to check feedback first to see if they send their own photos, but if your sending via venue, definetly include your own photo, typically through vv stars don't have thier own photos to send.

If you can't find a nice picture, include an index card - these are just plain cards, usually white, so in case the actor/actress doesn't have a picture nearby, they can sign this card instead. I do this when I can't find a picture, most of the time this card is replaced with a photo of their own.
