I mailed a comic, LOR, and SASE to Nick Cardy at that address in September 2008 and I never got a response. I miss the comic, but knew it was a gamble.

The only bad one was Jim Lee. I was in line for about two hours for his! Everyone else was about 10 minutes or so.

Kick-Ass was an amazing movie FYI :)

I went on ebay to try and get an extra copy of #1 to send off to get some autographs on it and prices are through the roof. I'm not sure what idiots out there drive up prices but these limited series comics almost always end up not being worth that much. (See: The Watchmen and V for Vendetta) There are seriously people selling 3rd and 4th print variants for 40 bucks. It's ridiculous. The first print #1 is only book valued at 18.00 right now and the limited sketch variant is 24.00. I guarantee once the movie hype dies down the prices fall way lower then that as well.

I enjoy comics but do not read them as much as I use to way back in the day. I do check up with a lot of the goings on with them via the internet and messageboards (superherohype). I think it's cool how you guys get sketches from them. Big congrats.

Also I agree Kick-Ass was an amazing movie. Probalby in my Top 10 all-time.

Sad news. Gene Colan will not be signing anything or doing commisions for a long time. Seems as if he has had some hardships lately. He has a badly broken shoulder and is very sick. Thus he is not doing any artwork or signings. He is retired from comics but makes an income doing commissions. He has spent weeks in the hospital now trying to recover and is not doing so hot. Check out this comic site for more info and to help out if you can....

I have sent a donation and a get well soon card. I wish him a speedy recovery and a big thanks to anyone who halps out.

I got a nice return yesterday. John Romita Jr signed my comic book in about 2 weeks time. This is the first comic book I ever bought and his art, along with Chris Claremonts story, got me hooked on comics. So this is pretty special to me. He even sent me a note saying that I sent it to his dad, not him, but is father got it to him anyways. He even apologized saying he and his dad, "are to swamped to do sketches - sorry." He is a pretty classy guy in my book.
