Someone from Coronation Street's going out with a fan...He cheekily asked for her phone number as well as an autograph, and now they're dating. Or at least they were, like a fortnight ago, when I read about it.

Well I really wouldn't recommend asking for her number. That's pretty daft and I'm surprised it didn't backfire, lol. I suppose the only way would be to meet and 'get chatting'?
But honestly, if you ever meet a celeb, they'll most likely be in a rush and find any talk of dating to be pestering/generally creepy.
I suppose the only way is to be a 'friend of a friend' so you can chat to them somewhere private. Although making friends with friends of celebrities may be tricky, lol.

I don't believe it's possible to "set out" to date a celeb. It's kinda creepy too. However, yes, it is possible for people to date celebrities who aren't in "the biz" themselves. Actors/singers/writers etc are still people and still meet people in random situations, in a pub or walking along the street, but I highly doubt anyone going "zomg it's Zac Efron I loves you!!!" is gonna make them think "yeah, I wanna date you."

i think its very possible, many celebrities have their official social sites such as facebook or myspace where you can get in touch with them, i once added one actor from Tv show which is one of my fav, as far as i remember i received message from him and we started to talk, and he asked me if i would like to join him in one famous band concert as a vip guest so i guess everything is possible, we all are humans and we all are equal no matter if you are a celeb or simply worker, for me everybody is equal and i would never treat celeb as someone better than we all are
