the Value of the Envelope...

Does anyone else keep the envelope that you recieve the autogaraph in? I do but my friend doesnt he doesn't think they have any sentimental value, If I got a letter or a sign phoo of a celeb, I keep it because of what I did to get it, does any one else do it?

I didn't used to keep the envelopes I got because mostly they were just SASEs. However, I do mostly keep them now, even though most of them are still just SASEs.

It's a matter of personal preference.

I do keep all the envelopes except for the 9 x 12's I just cut the strip off the top which has the return address and postmark, write the persons name on the back of it and keep it with the autograph. That way you dont have so much bulk paper especially if your putting them in albums.

I also keep the envelopes of any successes I receive, and write the celebrity's name on the back so they don't get mixed up.

It's more for sentimental value, especially since most (all?) of my successes have been from overseas.

I keep the envelopes. That way I'll remember what address I used.

I only keep the envelope if the address was put on by the person I sent it to. Or they write a message on my envelope. Like Isaac hayes put on my envelope dont bend man. Which I thought was pretty funny. Any other time I dont write the persons return address because I dont trust my mailman.

Really good question!! I always keep my envelopes, i think it's pretty cool to see the different stamps and writing of the celebrity (If they write out their own evelope to me). And again like it has been said to remember the address i used for future reference!!

Any a celeb has written then I keep them.

When I First Started Collecting I Used To Bin Them, But Now I Keep Them Because I Love USA Stamps I Also Keep Them Because Sometimes (Like My Moira Kelly & Chris Rankin) Successes The Celeb Has Signed The Envelope! Or If I Din't Use A SAE/SASE And The Celeb Wrote Out My Address On The Envelope (Stephen Culp - Desperate Housewives)
