Unread post by smoxsamantha »

Does anyone know how long, on average, it takes to film a movie?

It depends! It can take a year or two, it might just take a few weeks. A student film/ short might just take a weekend. What type of film are you thinking of?

I'm no expert, but it seems like most of the films from the big studios take around 2 to 4 months for filming.

Most small lower budget films take a month or less and bigger movies usually 2 to 4 months.

If you're talking about the actual filming, and not post or pre production, then yes, around 2-4 months.
