Re: Writing to serial killers...
I'm just curious... what do you write to them? How do you convince them to send you a signature. It's not like you can praise them and say "I thought the way you killed those 15 people was great!" I'm just curious.

It's polite to sign the end of a letter. If they reply there will probably be a signature.SilentEcho219 wrote:I'm just curious... what do you write to them? I just watched an episode of pawn stars were they had a peice of silk that was sent to manson to sign. (He wasn't allowed a pen so it was reveled to be traced onto the silk)
You can write anything that you want, say anything that you want. If you want to send one of admiration then you can, they recive all kinds of letters, their used to it. Or you can just write like you would to any penpal. I would prefer to develop a correspondence so I don't ask for autographs, and I don't send pictures to be signed (although it appears that olson may be willing to do that).
For people still in court or appealing, it would be best not to mention any kind of crime. Anything that he writes to you could be used in court to incriminate him. Their strictly instructed not to talk about their case.

Iam sorry but i think the idea of giving some sick twisted murderer the satisfaction of thinking that he might have fans cause someone is requesting an autograph is just wrong. Its a slap in the face in my opinon to the their victims and their victims families.
Now if its someone convicted of a non violent crime and you are intrested in getting a graph, that might be ok depending on who they are or what they have been accused of.

A crime is a crime. These people don't deserve any kind of praise.
Re: Writing to serial killers...
I know that most people see murderers as monsters, but I recognize them as human beings. Their humanity doesn't dissolve by killing someone.

If you are to write to someone like Charles Manson i would recommend using a PO Box and a fake name for your own safety.
Re: Writing to serial killers...
I have several letters from The nightstalker richard ramirez. Some people find this creepy but they are part of history. we have had some good conversations. He talks about his paintings and what he used to like to do when he was free and asks me the same. The one common thing we have is in music. He tells me about the concerts he went to and I do the same. If history is your thing then why not write if it interests you? You can send stamps and sase. I have many times. I have even sent him a pen but had to take it out of the case. You have to remember they are in jail so the whole having your address thing is kind of pointless. Not like they are going to pay you a visit. The one thing about this hobby is you get alot of biased people. Everyone has done something wrong in their lives just some to a greater extent. They are still human. i dont agree with what serial killers do or did but whats done is done and nothing will ever change that.
