Re: Personalized or Not?

I was sending a poster to get signed round to a few people, but I just think it looks messy if in different places different people have signed and personalised. The first person personalised at the top and signed at the bottom. Personally I would have preferred it if they just signed and didn't personalise.

I'm pretty indifferent about personalised and non-personalised.
There's only one actor (Mark Gatiss) who's autograph I really want with a personalisation, as his agency just sends out pre-signed photos, and I'd love him to actually read my letter. Apart from him, I'm not particularly fussed.

I love getting a personalized photo but it doesn't really matter to me. As long as I get the autograph I am fine. I don't like when I send a picture for them to sign and they send their own one back(unless it is personalized) because I feel like they didn't even take the time to read my letter. But more than anything I love when a celebrity sends a personalized hand written letter to me. It makes me feel like they really do care about their fans and I have much more respect for them. I have two letters from two of my favorite singers and I will cherish them forever (not to say I don't like my other autographs) haha :D

I like personnalisation on pictures, in my opinion, the autograph seems more special.

I agree with some people, on movie posters, it is difficult to have each actors personalisation and it can be messy.

If I can, I ask for personnalisation

But if its displayed in your home, don't you want people to see that it is personalized to you?!

Personalized adds such an authentic personal touch for me. Definitely my preference! (unless its a group shot as others have mentioned. Its nice if just one person puts your name on it)

Honestly, i really dislike it when an autograph has been personalized. I don't know why as i don't intend to ever sell it but i just think it looks much better when it's just signed. Although, i have had two experiences of people spelling my name wrong on expensive items so this may also be the reason

Hands down, I prefer 'em to be personalized. I have zero interest in selling or trading any of my autographs, so monetary value is not a concern. As many others have said, the best is when they write a little note/message on the photo or whatever referencing your letter or something witty or unusual. I never ask for personalization, but I usually get it. It does make me feel special, and if it is personalized then there is a better chance that the celeb read your letter, though it's not a guarantee.

As someone said earlier I am primarily a sports guy so my view depends on the item. The only item I don't like personalizations on are baseball cards because as he said a nice card with just a clean sig is very appealing astetically. As far as my photos I always ask for personalizations. I'm just getting into TTM with larger items, as a teenager I used to send cards in by the handful to different players, so most of my experiences are F2F. I took a long lay off and was amazed when I started doing it again and players charged for personalizations. I can understand when asking for achievements which drive the value of an autograph up but personalizations as someone said earlier means that player has to know this isn't going on ebay.

It really depands on what being signed. Like pictures should be personalized, but sports cards, CD books, and DVD inserts are better with just the signature.

I like my autographs personalized. If they are not that's also OK, but if I have a choice I'd love it to be personalized. I never ask for a personalization in my letter, so when they do sent it personalized it's really special.
So yes, personalized is my choice but only when the celeb wants to and not because I've asked them :D Kinda gives me a special feeling :P
