The "Sorcerer's Apprentice" premiere NYC

Unread post by zipbags »

Was able to get tickets to the premiere of "Sorcerer's Apprentice" in NYC today. It was ridiculously hot. They didn't make it easy. But, I was able to get the following to sign my Sorcerer's Apprentice poster...

-Nick Cage
-Jerry Bruckheimer
-John Turtletaub
-Jay Baruchel
-Peyton List
-Alfred Molina
-Gregory Woo
-Jake Cherry

And Helen Mirren. Who was like "I am not in the movie. I told her I didn't care."

The only pic I got with a celeb was Jay Baruchel. Teresa Palmer was there. But, I missed her coming and going.

Some pics

We really enjoyed the movie. Both my wife and daughter had very little interest in seeing the movie. But, they really enjoyed it.

Congrats again zipbags!
I don't mean to down grade your success......
But may I ask why you got the autographs on a Socerer's Apprentice poster? First of all with Nicholas Cage's track record you know this movie is probably going to bomb at the box office. I would have gotten Cage on something that was more of a hit, like his National Treasure movies or Face Off ( you know Travolta is a good signer in person, so a piece from this movie would have been easy to get done. ). Also posters are almost impossible to get finished. Though you have a good start on it where are you going to get Monica Bellucci? You have to get her on the poster, because it won't be complete until you do. Glad you enjoyed the movie with the family! Sounded like you had a good time. Best way to enjoy a premiere and that is to be on the inside with maybe a good afterparty.

Actually, the movie was very good. But, I knew this would be the best place to get the most of the cast to sign the poster. With regards to other cast members. I can always do what I did with "Percy Jackson". I got the poster from Kevin McKidd's charity and then matted the poster with sigs from those who didn't sign.

NICE!!!! Good idea zipbags!
Glad you and the family enjoyed the movie AND that's the important thing. With all this selling of autographs with the dealers and ebayer's I sometimes forget that it's all about what the fan likes and not what type of item can get sold.

Exactly. You have seen all of my autographed mattes. I constantly get asked by people to buy them. But, I enjoy making and having them. On a side note. My 7yr old missed his baseball teams party the night of the premiere. We were talking about it and I said didn't you have more fun going to see the movie. He says "Premiere Dad". So even he realized it was something special.

Sometimes through ebay and the box office the general public can buy tickets to movie premieres. They're ususlly expensive but most of the time the money goes towards a charity. Disney movies, like the Socerers Apprentice, do this a lot.
