Personalized Autograph Question

Unread post by Zaj »

At a recent baseball game, I asked SS Asdrubal Cabrera to personalize the photo he was autographing for me.

Instead of putting "To Andrew", like I requested, he wrote, "To Angel", I'm assuming because he doesn't speak great English and didn't understand.

I was wondering if I could/should/if you would change it to Andrew. It wouldn't be all that difficult.. An is already there, as well as the e. the L could be changed to a W pretty simply. All that would really need changed is the G to a D and add an R.

Thoughts?

I would leave it as it is.

I once wrote to Paul Williams (singer, voice of Penguin on Batman); while he sent me a terrific photo, he wrote "To Adam" instead of "To Lucas." I imagine he got the pile swapped around, so somewhere there's an Adam with a photo dedicated to Lucas.

Hey Adam, if you're a member here, want to swap? ;-)

I would just take off the entire personalization. Don't write anything in yourself.

How would you go about doing that? Rubbing alcohol? I just don't want to ruin the photo. I was considering your suggestion before you mentioned it, but wasn't sure how to go about doing it.

or you can think of it as he thinks you are an angel haha. But seriously I would not try to fix the personalization. I did a few years back and now I regret it because it looks weird.

Interesting, hadn't thought of that. I can find those at a craft store, right? How much?

I buy them at Walmart. They are either 3 for .99 or 3 for 1.99. You don't want to erase too hard into the photo, however as the photo could get scratched/ruined.

Thanks! I'll go buy some tomorrow. I'll test them out on a regular photo first.

If your photo is a professionally printed glossy photograph you can use a q-tip dipped in a little nail polish remover to remove the inscription....but it has to be a professionally printed glossy photo. It works really well if you are careful.
