Normally, I would just send one. It just depends on the celebrity

I usually send 2. If it happens to be someone who has been in more than one show I love, like Jewel Staite or Morena Bacarrin were in Firefly as well as Stargate, then I have sent 3 (2 photos and an index card). I've never sent more than 3.

I usually send one, two if I can't decide between the photos, or if someone has starred in 2 roles that I really loved. I think the most I'd ever send out is 3 though, I consider any more than 3 to be greedy.

That, to me, is what causes celebs to either a.) send out secretarials, b.) charge, or c.) not sign at all.

You need to do your research before sending more than one item at a time. For instance, some individuals will only sign if you send one item. It's not so much about being greedy, it's about taking the chance the individual will see you as being a dealer, even if you write a real nice letter. As a general rule I will only send one item per request unless I know in advance that they will sign multiples. If I don't know or am unsure, I only send one. I can always wait a year or so and send again if I want something different signed. While a year can seem like a long time to wait, there are plenty of things I can do to keep occupied in the meantime.

I only send one photo. I'm happy just having the one autograph! I do have multiples but that's only if the celeb has sent me an extra photo or if I went on to meet someone I'd previously written to!
