An announcement of my concern
Hello, fellow fanmail.biz members. The following is something I have been considering for a long time about this website's forum. You see, there are several flags that have made themselves clear to me over the past week. I have been moderating, administering, and monitering various websites that have forums or are forums. In my hobby, I examine trends in the forums that occur before the website crashes, loses activity, or becomes absolutely vacant. There are many aspects in the examination of a forum's status to take into consideration, too many to describe the following prediction.
I believe the fanmail.biz website will decline in activity for as long as global economic status worsens and advertisement for the website continues to lack. When a website declines, new members stop flowing into the registry and older members lose interest in the website. New members leave because of the original decline in activity, and old members leave because they become more reactionary to the lack of new members to replace the number of inactive members.
If the website does not turn around and only the occasional new member and avid collectors are left members will eventually dissolve into other websites and forums. Much too often, websites with only a small group of active members die off because the small number of active members move as a group to a new website with the same theme.
I am not saying any of this is in the near future, as a very extreme case scenario would have to occur with the number of members. Do not be alarmed, as the breaking of ice like this often worries people too much. If members start generating more topics, and replying to new topics the website should do very well, if not better than ever.
Thank you for reviewing my topic.

Re: An announcement of my concern
I love this website, there are many new members each day. i cant picture fanmail.biz going anywhere for a long time. i think this site is very active if you ask me
i'm glad to be a part of it

Re: An announcement of my concern
Really? Of all the problems that plague this forum, membership and activity are what you found to be the concerns? This site is the most well-known of any free autograph collecting sites, and has virtually no competition in terms in those departments.
Re: An announcement of my concern
So let me get this straight. You've generated a new topic to improve the longevity of this site, but the topic is the lack of new topics and the ultimate demise of this site. Whoa...this is freaking me out!!
Re: An announcement of my concern
There are tons of new topics every day. I wouldn't worry just yet.

Members and activity is not something to worry about on this website. This site as plenty of members and is very active for a free forum. New members join everyday. If you ask me there really is no point in this topic because I cannot see fanmail.biz going down the drain. Autograph collecting is a very popular hobby and this website beats all other free websites.

As long as there are celebrities in the world, we'll be here.
I'm pretty sure this forum has far worse things to worry about. For example, right below this thread is another spam thread, currently.

I really don't see this as an issue. This site just seems to be getting bigger and bigger. There are many new members joining every day, and most of them are leaving posts.

Over 9,000 requests sent since 1986.

Are you a member on any other free autograph forums? FM's member activity is far superior to any of them.
You're worried for nothing.
