I'm not trying to have a go at you, but I think that is fundamentally wrong and the opposite of what this site is here for. It is a selfish attitude. I agree that smackedsillyxxx could've said 'congrats' or something. But I think you are more in the wrong. I shouldn't even be responding here, I apologize, but I vehemently disagree with you. Of course, someone can Google the production address, but why, then, post the success? To let someone know that if they can find the address it is valid? You're wrong. This site is a community, not a place to post self-indulgent successes. At the very least, why not shoot the guy a PM and ask him to to publish it. But, not this gluttonous attitude. This site has on it's main page: "How can you help us? If you used one of our address send us your feedback! We will publish it here for other fans and autograph collectors." I know, it's not a policy, it's a courtesy.
If I'm wrong here, please somebody step in and put me in my place.
Sometimes this site can be a little grubby, but I think more often than not, it's a communal place to gather, share, and help one-another out. There are more good eggs than bad. I'm sorry people have treated you unfairly in the past. I too have sent someone a message with no reply. It happens. Don't let bad correspondence corrupt you.
I'm sorry for bringing this up. I want everyone to get their most-wanted autograph as much as I want to get mine. It's a fleeting hobby with a great deal having to do with luck and persistence. Thanks gang.

Thanks, velvetgold and stone. It's good to know you guys are out there. dfreely, I'm with you to an extent also. I can't blame them either, and I hate to harp on this one user. A lot of people here absolutely do take and take and take, and spam addresses. To me, it's equally bad to hold out on the community. I guess I just wanted to make a statement about how that kind of behavior flies in the face of what this site is here for.

Re: Emily Rose (haven) success
Im glad my post is getting so much attention,i guess some of you are going against what you said about how i shouldnt post without a address by continuing to post on my success, lol I don't care if people agree or not because its my business and i have good reasons which i will say one last time. First off i have helped many people with addresses in the past and i tried to help people but all the times over the past year or more that i have asked people for vv addresses from their successes either they didn't answer me back or they said it was too late because filming was done even though i knew it wasn't or in more than one case they gave me a wrong address on purpose resulting in a RTS in one case so how am i a bad person here i have helped alot of people and i have not received one valid addrress from anyone on here since i joined? People got mad when i posted addresses for everyone to see saying i can't do that because then too many people will send and it lessens their chances so i stopped doing that and then people PM me saying things like whats the address not even a hi nice success or even a nice comment on my success posting like i owe them the address. The only way people have anything to say is when i won't share the address its funny because everyone keeps saying it's a sharing site yet nobody ever helped me. And there is the odd person i like on here who i would still share with and have and as for why i post my successes without the vv address recently is because i have friends who also use this site and they like to see pics of my latest successes. At least im being honest about it unlike most people who just ignore you or act like they forget the address or filming is finished. Half the fun is finding the addresses on your own anyways i find its more rewarding that way when you did the work yourself.I know there is some good people here foresure but alot of selfish people too and dealers so i can't tell whos good or bad so this is how it is now, people only have themselves to blame for my new attitude.I hope you all find what your looking for and best of luck.

Perhaps it is equally bad to hold back, but to be fair, it's on the reactive end of it. I don't think the people who hold back would mind sharing if this was an ideal community, but the simple fact is that it isn't, and we've seen addresses abused time and time again by people who simply hoard autographs. I still post some successes - those that already have previous successes, or have made their fanmail addresses public, or are "Hollywood-ized" celebrities, etc. But there are a lot of times I write to more "obscure" people - ones who generally don't get fanmail and many of you could argue shouldn't even be considered celebrities - and I don't post those because I don't need some of the people here going "Wow, he/she's hot, I'm going to write too even though I have no idea who that is because I just want that picture", or "Wow, that's so cool she sent you her old dancing shoes, I'm gonna write too even though I never heard of her and have no interest in dance", etc. If I see their names pop up on the "Request an Address" or similar forums, I'll PM the user and let him/her know since they're a fan too, but I keep it out of the public eye. Basically, I don't always share with the community as a whole, but I'll always share with a fellow fan.

Thats funny because i also write to alot of lesser known stars who i like and i have had people say things like oh shes hot im going to write to her and you can tell they have never even seen that persons work.I will continue to post all my successes and share any new agency information i find just so a new person or address can get in the permanent database for future fans i just don't share VV addresses anymore.dfreely wrote:Perhaps it is equally bad to hold back, but to be fair, it's on the reactive end of it. Having reread the thread, you sound pretty vindictive, but I can't blame you - this forum can really turn people into something else. I feel like my own "got help / helped others" meter is lopsided as well.
I don't get the whole "ban VV addresses" thing.. I know someone kept spamming the forums with porn in an attempt to have VV addresses banned (great campaign that was.. /sarcasm), but it just seemed like it came out of nowhere. Did I miss a big debate on VV addresses or something?

Re: Emily Rose (haven) success
hey great success John. I got my photos of Emily back this week. took about 4 weeks all up. she seems really lovely
and for everyone who is bagging John for not sharing the address, this Haven address is really really easy to find if you manage to not be lazy and look for yourselves. I mean seriously, stop coming here just to scab addresses from people who have done the research for themselves and post their successes. he doesn't have to share the address.

I just get it myself thanx anyways for the rude attitude
find the address yourself!!! clearly you are able to type. use your brain and find it yourself. Canadian addresses are simple to find if you aren't lazy!

Re: Emily Rose (haven) success
Wow I find the responses here to be very ironic! If I remember correctly two weeks ago Johnny was getting criticized about posting vv addresses and now he is getting criticized for not! This message board is tough!!!! This is half the reason why I don't post my successes here anymore. I really don't think he is bragging and the only reason he isn't posting his addresses anymore because it looks like he got so many problems from doing it before it's just easier not too. Before you know it he may not post anymore..(like me unfortunately)... and it would be a shame because he has some fantastic successes.
Anyway....another amazing success Johnny and a brilliant addition to your collection!

Interesting. I know find myself on both sides of the coin. John, I can't criticize you on either front. It's an interesting debate. I'm kind of sorry I opened Pandora's Box on this. The more I think about it, the more I agree it's a personal preference, to share or not. love_buzz, take it easy, I'm honestly just opening conversation. I didn't realize, johnnylightning, that you were getting flack last week. My apologies. I feel bad after all this, gang. Sorry to be a troublemaker. I guess I just read your post in a pessimistic moment. I love this place, and I hope people don't suck the fun out of it. Johnny, I like how you defended yourself and I agree with you. I think you're a good force on here. I know you probably don't care what I think. No one should. But I'm sorry.
