Your Autograph Diaries

Today, I got my most wanted.

Normally I would post in the feedback section, but since I can't give out the address, I thought I would just talk about it here.

Though he's not a household name anymore, I've wanted to get an autograph from Humbert Allen Astredo for ages. Mr. Astredo played evil warlock Nicholas Blair on Dark Shadows, and was not only my favorite villain on the series, but one of my favorite villains ever. I searched high and low for an address, but could never find one. The closest I came was a newsletter that popped up, which listed him as a donor. I took a shot, e-mailed them, and asked if they would mind forwarding something to him. I was so thrilled when I got the reply that, yes, they would do so. I immediately poured my heart into a letter, cannibalized a Dark Shadows book for a photo page and a DVD insert, and sent it out, along with a donation to the group.

Today, a month later, I received back the photo page and the DVD insert, both signed and personalized, AND a handwritten note thanking me for my interest and talking about how he had been to Tucson 35 years ago, performing Taming of the Shrew. I jumped up and down and squealed (much as I did when I heard back from Barbara Rush).

While there are bigger stars I'm waiting to hear back from, THIS is the one I've wanted most. I'm on cloud nine!

is in the middle of dry spell . It's funny i go outside and when i find a failure the neighbors literally come over to ask me if im okay because i look so disappointed lol

well i went to check the mail and nothing today rats. i was hoping to get something it would have made me feel a little better. but yeah i hope i get something soon.

Just picked up a friend and posted like...7 requests on the way there, which has raised my hopes that my dry spell may be over soon

Nothing today; I'm kind of worrying about some folks I've written to. There are a few celebs who have replied to other folks who wrote around the same time or after me, but I haven't heard anything back yet (Leslie Nielsen, Rick Moranis, David Tennant...). Kinda bums me out.
